I got this for my little girl's bedroom. Of course she loves it but really it is a piece of crap. It's flimsy, it's uneven - I spent over 2 hours to trying to get the branches to show some sort of symmetry only to discover yet another big empty gap in the branches. The description says it's 4' - that's including about 4" for the stand and the top most vertical branch being about 6" in length, so really the actual body of the tree is a smidgen over 3 ft. The lights are sparse - if you throw enough extra lights on it and pile on the cheap Walmart ornaments it's going to be pretty and a kid will love it. Luckily I only paid $18 for it on a deal. It works, but it is nothing like the picture. So, depending on what you're going to use it for it could be okay, barely. ... show more

I have revised my original review based on the subsequent, rapid, responsive follow-up from the National Tree Company, which solved the problem with the tree stand. The tree is beautiful and overall a good value for the money. I had just set up the tree for the first time, a little more than a week before Christmas. The tree was easy enough to assemble, especially if you have worked with artificial Christmas trees before. However, I was dismayed to see that the tree stand, at least for the tree I had purchased, seems to have been poorly made. The legs for the stand are plastic. The real problem, as the picture shows, was that the hub of the tree stand, which holds the artificial tree trunk in the stand, held it at a slight angle, i.e., not vertical as it should be to position the tree properly. (Yes, I made sure that all of the legs were properly seated in the tree stand.) I placed a square on the floor next to the tree stand so you can see the problem with the trunk holder. The net result is that the entire tree would lean to one side. Along with being unsightly, that was potentially unsafe when our small grandson visits us for Christmas. I contacted the company about my concern, and they responded personally and very quickly. They sent me a replacement tree stand hub which solved the problem. I bought the 6 ft tree with multi colored lights and I like it very much! It's medium sized, which I like, and it will hold light to medium weight ornaments. Just prepare yourself to spend 20-30 minutes arranging the branches and fluffing it up after it comes out of the box. There are a lot of complaints in the reviews about the stand breaking. It worked fine for me... it's just 4 heavy plastic legs that slide into grooves. Just have patience and go slow when setting it up for the first time. Once I put ornaments on it I think it will be exactly what we wanted. You wont be able to plug in an electric topper without an extension cord, and mine was also too heavy. I'm also buying a light-weight tree topper today (non-electric). ... show more

    • Branches are a bit flimsy

I bought this 6' tree, because I am in my 70s now, and climbing ladders to decorate a taller tree is a challenge. The one I had was a 7 foot, and when I placed it on my rolling stand, it was too tall to put a tree topper on. However, the branches are flimsy. I have a lifetime of ornaments, all different shapes, sizes, and weights, and I found myself using only 1/3 of them because the branches wouldn't support many of them. My tree toppers (I have several and tried them all), wouldn't stay upright, and would lean over or fall off completely. The circumference was not as full either. I expected more from this company, and am disappointed it. I will probably search for a 6 1/2 foot tree for next year, and will have to make the rounds of stores to view them all in person. Maybe I'll take some of my ornaments and a couple of toppers to try them out before buying, as I had planned on purchasing one that would last me the rest of my life, and this is not it. ... show more

Had bought this item several years ago which wore out from use. This version (same company, same description) somewhat changed. Sections connected with lights wiring (one set of lights instead of two). Foliage less dense also. I have always added two extra strings of lights and lots of keepsake ornaments. We finally had to get a new tree this year but since we have cats that love Christmas trees, we had to go with a smaller one that already had lights on it and was easy to put together. The key to making any artificial tree looking good is pulling all the branches out from their compact positions from being squished into a small box. If you don’t pull each individual branch, you get holes in the tree and it looks funny. It’s also a pretty sturdy tree as long as you don’t have cats knocking it down. We put this on our favorite table and it stayed perfectly until one of our cats saw it (pictured) and wouldn’t leave it alone. It now stays high up on some shelves but it still looks great and actually fits there. The key to getting the lights to working is making sure the plug from the top portion is plugged into the back of the plug from the bottom portion. Then just plug the connected plugs into an outlet. This tree takes no more than 5 to 8 minutes to set up out of the box. All depends on how much time you spend fluffing the limbs. The lights seem to be a normal string light that's been attached to the limbs in some form or another. blown bulbs could be an issue in the future, similar to ant string light. ... show more
