Bought this 4.5 ft North Valley Spruce for a long-term USA 250th birthday celebration, and it’s perfect. Got a great deal on a high-quality tree. Setup: Very easy, though plan for some time to fluff the branches to get that full look. Appearance: Awesome! We even had four guests over last weekend who thought it was real. Lights: Running on a timer for 2 hours daily. I’m leaving it up until January 6, 2027, so we'll see how the lights hold up and so far so good! Overall, I'm thrilled with this purchase and give it a well-deserved 5 stars.

Adorable tree! Get it if it's on sale!
I bought this tree on Black Friday of 2016 as it was a little lower in price than what it usually goes out for. I received the tree on Sunday, two days later which is a pretty impressive delivery speed. The tree came in a huge box. Delivery was prompt with no damages to the box. My cat was initially more excited than my husband or myself! When opening the box, we saw the tree all compressed inside the box and looking shabby. I had already read numerous reviewing warning about this so we didn't panic just yet. Taking it out of the box and assembly was easy peasy, anyone could do it without reading the instructions. However the lights were totally another issue. The lighting just wouldn't work on one section of the tree. We spent an inordinate amount of time figuring out what was wrong, including pulling out and replacing the fuses of the problematic section, which was an ordeal to say the least. In the end, our problem with a section boiled down to ONE lamp missing which was easily taken care of with the numerous extra lamps and fuses the company provides in little sachets. However this task took us a long time to resolve. The fluffing also takes a great amount of time, which is another thing I read in reviews so I was prepared. Trust me and the other reviewers when we say the fluffing takes a long time, it REALLY takes a long time. I would suggest you have no other activity planned for several hours when you decide to assemble and setup this tree because it does take up a good chunk of time. Fluffing took a solid hour for me and I'm still not fully done, about 20% left. At the end, however all the hard labor bears fruit because when all the steps have been accomplished, the tree looks SPECTACULAR and almost real. When in full sunlight, you can tell this is an artificial tree but when it starts getting dark, this tree looks like a real tree whether lit or unlit! I'm attaching 5 different pictures of the tree from the time we received it in a box to complete setup, although as I mentioned before, I still have some fluffing left. I also took a picture of the hinges holding the branches, which is interesting. Overall this turned out to be a great tree for the price I paid and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an artificial but well-made tree and definitely get it if it's on sale! 5 stars. EDIT: 12/03/2016: I'm attaching a picture with my fully decorated Christmas tree. Very pleased with this purchase!

Very nice when fluffed and decorated
The tree looks pretty nice for the price. Larger than I expected! It did take a while to put together and fluff, well over an hour with two people working on it. But once it was fluffed, it looked nice with no real bare spots. A few that are sparser than others, but with strategic fluffing and with ornaments and garland, not at all noticeable. Like any artificial tree, it wasn't the easiest to get back in the box for storage. And de-fluffing, or flattening or whatever you'd call it, also took a good bit of time. Maybe half an hour with two people working on it together. It was also a little difficult to pull the pieces apart from one another when disassembling. We followed the suggestion of putting some oil on the metal tube pieces that go together to form the "trunk" before connecting them. It was still somewhat difficult and maybe one fairly tall and strong person might be able to do it on his or her own, but it took two of us holding different pieces and pulling really hard to get them apart, and they were still really tightly connected even with the oil. Which isn't in general a bad thing for stability, but just a heads up for when you go to take it apart. Definitely do the oil thing, it would have been much, much more difficult if we hadn't. For me, it had the perfect number of lights and was really quite pretty when lit. I got a lot of compliments on it, and a few people didn't realize it was artificial until they were looking closely. Not having to deal with lights makes up for the fluffing time! We also had plenty of artificial needles to clean up, but not as many as I expected. Overall, I found it to be a great value and just what I was looking for. I recommend it.

Pretty, Bright, Easy setup.

I just couldn't motivate myself to carry in our old Christmas tree this year. It's very heavy (70 lbs) and bulky, requiring a two wheel dolly. It's served us well for 6-7 years but it's too much trouble with the set up and take down, so we decided to down-size with this 4.5' tree, and set it up on a round coffee table we have. It is light, very bright, full and much easier to set up. No step ladders needed! Because its diameter is only about 3', we can keep it in the living area without moving furniture around. The grand children require that we decorate, and each year I am glad that we did. Good memories for all. The decorations, including the angel have been with us longer than I can remember. I recommend it, if it fits your situation. These days, anything easier is appreciated...within some boundaries.

Beautiful tree but did come with 2 broken bulbs
A few years ago we purchased an artificial tree from a large chain store that we were never happy with. The branches were sparce at the bottom and then super bushy at the top. We ended up giving that one away on Craigslist last year with the intent on purchasing a nice pre-lit tree this year. I cannot be more happy with the National tree 7.5 foot pre-lit north valley spruce tree. It went together very nicely and after an hour prepping the tree it is by far my favorite Christmas tree we've ever owned. The size and shape of or is perfect. The only issue I had is that I received this with 2 broken bulbs. I easily found one as one large strand of lights was out and the broken bulb was easily noticeable. When removing the bulb it did shatter in my hand though giving me a nice cut. After replacing this bulb with one of the 30 replacement bulbs this comes with my strand still would not light up and I guess this is why they recommend keeping the tree lit as you work on it so that you don't get to the very end and then find a strand out. But I digress. I could not find out why the tree would not light so I went to another large retail store. The one that starts with a W and purchased a Light Keeper Pro. After about 2 minutes I was able to track down the exact bulb causing the issue and found that bulb was broken too. I replaced that one and now every light stays lit. I highly recommend that anyone who has Christmas light purchase a Light Keeper Pro to help diagnose your bulb issues. I rate the tree 5 stars and the experience with the bulbs a 4 but since I could not rate a 4.5 stars I decided to go with the higher rating since I do feel that I got my money's worth on this purchase. I am just glad that I got this before it was sold out. Shipping was fast too.

Beautiful, but poor quality and poor customer service

I have to preface this by saying that I have not posted a negative review for any product. This is my first... We purchased this tree in October 2013 and put it up after Thanksgiving. It really is a beautiful tree, so it was extremely disappointing when 3 entire sections of lights went out a few days before we took it down -- the weekend after the New Year holiday. We only turned the tree on in the evening--it was not on 24x7. My husband tried to replace the fuse, but that did not seem to work. In addition, there were not nearly enough replacement bulbs included in the box for us to replace all the bulbs that burned out. The tree was under warranty, so I was able to send it back for repair. However, customer service leaves something to be desired. They were slow to respond, so the process was a lengthy one; one of the reps was rude and never followed up as she indicated she would. I had to continue to call and leave several messages and emails. When I finally spoke with someone who could coordinate the Fed Ex pickup (to send the tree back for repair), they never followed through and failed to contact Fed Ex. I had lugged that tree out to the porch by myself and then when no one picked it up, I had to drag it back into the house. Long story short, one more week lapsed before I could have the tree picked up. We got the tree back in the spring and did not take it out of the box to test it since we were getting ready for a move across country. I was surprised when we put it up after Thanksgiving that it worked...but only for 2 days. Then the entire top section of lights went out. I reached to customer service to advise them of a defective tree. It lasted one Christmas season with minimal use. Customer service did not even respond to my emails or calls. ~ So Disappointed

Lovely Christmas Tree

This is an excellent tree with plenty of lights. It is short, so there are only two parts to assemble. Just fold down the branches, fluff out the branch ends, and that’s it. This tree is very attractive and full, with plenty of branches for hanging ornaments. It does look real. I am quite pleased with this purchase. It’s perfect on a small table.

Cheap for the size, but don't expect superior quality

I was excited to find a 9 foot tree that was under $700, so I ordered this one as soon as I saw it. It arrived quickly, and I opened it as soon as it arrived so I could set it up. There were instructions enclosed, and the base of the tree is sturdy enough to support the weight of the tree. I started assembling the tree and it went together perfectly. All the lights worked when I plugged the tree in. I started to fluff up the tree, working from the top down in 4 sections. It took me about 3 hours, but I will say that I had a 3 year old nearby trying to "help", and I'm also 8 months pregnant, so that could be why it took so long. During the fluffing process, I noticed that 2 of the "hinges" (one of the top of the tree, and one on the bottom section of the tree) had become detached and I had to rig it so they would go back on as the pieces that would normally hold them together were smashed in and didn't fit through the openings anymore. I'm a little disappointed with that, and worried that this won't be a tree I'll be able to use for years and years like my parents did with their own artificial tree. I have a smaller artificial tree I purchased at a discount retail store 8 years ago that is in perfect condition (even the lights), and seemed to be much better quality than this one, but I'm optimistic that with a delicate touch when assembling and disassembling I'll be able to make it last. The tree fluffed up nicely and looks just like the photograph shown on Amazon.
