We bought real Christmas trees in the past but the prices are just going up the roof! This is our first artificial Christmas. The stand was quite heavy duty and held the tree without any wobbling. It was simply to stack the 3 sections of the tree like Lego and connect the wire plugs into the center section to light up the tree. Branch fluffing took about an hour to make the tree branches look full and more realistic. Just wear a pair of garden gloves, have patience and take it slow to fluff from the trunk outward. The tree is quite full and the branches looked like real tree branches that had dried a bit since cutting (like a real Christmas tree after about a week in the house). The pre-lit lights were not all scattered evenly so there were 2-3 small spots without lights but they are barely noticeable once we added the ornaments. These colorful lights gave a vintage look to the lit tree. Take-down was quite easy - just unplug the lights & disassemble the 3 connected pieces. We bought a 9' storage bag and it was very easy to fit the entire tree with room to spare. I highly recommend this affordable & good-looking tree and look forward to putting it up next Christmas. ... show more

I absolutely love this small tree! We decided to downsize from our 7 and 1/2 ft tree this year. I was hesitant on purchasing this because of the price. The tree is very pretty, and I'll get more into that down below, but when we plugged it all in, the middle section wouldn't work. It seems a few people have had this trouble. We checked all the bulbs, nothing seemed obviously wrong. We hadn't missed a plug. Then we saw four strings with metal connectors just sticking off that section of the tree. We had never seen anything like that on a string of lights before. Sure enough, when we touched the metal ends together, the section lit up! Apparently, whoever put this tree together forgot to put two sockets and bulbs on it. Now we have to bridge the gap to keep the lights on. We are connecting them with electrical tape for now. Kind of annoying and frustrating. But if anyone else finds the middle section doesn't work, look for the strange metal ends sticking off (photos attached). Now, as I said before, the tree is very pretty. It was easy to fluff up and looks very full. People have said it looks almost real, and I agree. The metal stand is very sturdy and the tree stands stable and doesn't tip over with the slightest touch like some artificial trees. I like the amount of lights that came on the tree and I don't feel the need to add extra like I have with other pre-lit trees. This is a well made tree and very sturdy. It comes in two pieces and very easy to assemble. The 4 1/2 foot size is perfect to decorate, no ladder needed. It fits nicely into a corner where bigger trees don't work. It's pre-lit and ample lighting. However, I added just a 3 foot string of mixed lights near the bottom as I thought it needed it. I also (because I love royal blue) added a couple of strings of blue light. I'm thrilled with this tree and can't wait to use it in years to follow. I highly recommend. ... show more

    • Nice Tree Once the Lights Are Working

I ordered this tree on Nov 2nd and received it on Nov 10th. The tree arrived in a brown shipping box weighing 43 lbs and measuring 48" x 15" x 13" with the normal wear-and-tear that typically occurs with UPS. This box was the "reusable storage carton" referred to in the bulleted description for this tree. There was no storage box within the shipping box as is sometimes done. If the box is to be set on carpet or stored indoors you will likely need to wash off the debris accumulated during the tree's journey with a damp cloth or sponge. I immediately opened the box and set up the tree. The tree was the standard arrangement of three sections that connect together and into the stand. There were six strands of lights that connected together to an AC power cord in a large green lump in the center of the tree. Upon plugging in the tree, I discovered that the lights did not light on nine branches in the upper middle of the tree. The tree came with an abundance of yellow and red bulbs (no blue or green). I attempted to trace the failing string of lights and I replaced what to me appeared to be the unlit bulb adjacent to the lit portion of lights. However that had no effect. I placed a call to the 800 number listed in the insert with the tree. The recorded message indicated that they would not accept calls unless the tree had first been registered on their web site. I hung up and visited their web site. I filled out their online form which included attaching a PDF of the receipt from Amazon. I was unable to fill in one field on the form which was the UPC code for the tree. Fortunately the web site accepted the form with the default value for the UPC code. I then placed another call to the 800 number and was quickly connected with an operator. One of the first things she asked me for was the UPC code from the box. I told her that their was no UPC code on the box. After a brief discussion about whether or not the box had a UPC code, she was willing to accept the item code instead. I explained my difficulty to the operator and assured her that I had replaced the neighboring bulb in the string. She told me that the way they repair trees with similar problems is to send someone out to fetch the tree, have it repaired and then returned. However, she indicated that it would not be possible to have this done by Christmas with my tree (recall that this phone call was on November 10th). She recommended that I wait until the end of January of next year and to call back then to arrange to have the tree repaired. The only other option was to return the tree to Amazon. I fretted about this over night and the following morning decided to make another attempt at repairing the tree. I decided to trace the entire string that was not working and verify that every bulb was seated properly. This process was somewhat difficult as the string was obviously the same color as the tree and furthermore the string was wound about each branch and hidden among the artificial needles. Eventually I came upon an obscured socket that had glass portruding from it which I managed not to cut myself on. Closer examination showed that somehow the bulb had been sheared off at the rim of the socket. I used a screwdriver and pair of needle nosed pliers to pry the remainder of the bulb out of the socket. I inserted a spare bulb and plugged the tree back in and all bulbs came on! Overall the tree was reasonably priced and was shipped free as I am a Prime customer. The tree arrived quickly and it is reasonably handsome. It will look much better once the limbs at the end of each branch have been spread and arranged. ... show more

A very nice small Christmas Tree with the right number of multicolored lights. Two people had it set up and fluffed in under thirty minutes. We have it set upon a round table so the 'top' is still over 6 foot up from the floor. Only minor inconvenience was when unpacking and fluffing it lost about a dozen or so 'needles'. Probably not as bad as what a real tree would initially drop but still had to break out the vacuum. In the end though it was definitely a good buy! ... show more
