There is only one spot in our den for a tree, and that spot didn't allow for a tree taking up 3-4' of floor space. After reading the good reviews, I ordered this tree. In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed when I opened the box. Not sure what I expected, but my first impression was that it didn't look 'natural'. Being that it was October at the time, I put the box away, along with my initial response. This past weekend (right after Thanksgiving), I pulled the box out of the closet and took out the tree. Still not overwhelmed. But I hung in there and as I began to spread out the branches, my attitude changed. By the time I was done decorating, I don't know how I ever did without this thin, beautiful tree. It is full and looks quite realistic when examined closely. The lights seemed kinda sparse before I added ornaments, but the glass and glitter of the decorations really made the tree shine brightly. The clear lights are quite brilliant. The tree is ultra stable on a base that extends almost as far as the branches. I really like that the branches come down almost to the floor ... that adds to the realistic appearance. Evergreens out in the woods always grow close to the ground. Took me a couple of hours to nitpick the branch tips to perfection, but I am delighted with the results. When I was done, there were only 5 or 6 bristles on the floor. That is almost zero shedding, which made me very happy. If that continues, this tree will last for a very long time! I've uploaded a photo of our decorated tree to give you an idea of how it might look in your home. I recommend this for purchase, without any hesitation. The price is low, but the quality is not! UPDATE: The tree was up for 6 weeks. I have 4 dogs that get rather rough playing in the house and they skid into the tree several times ... it never fell over and never lost a needle. The grandchildren were all in awe at how beautiful it was. I've got to say that my husband and I enjoyed this tree so much that we hated to take it down. ... show more

    • Disappointingly poor quality Christmas Tree with exposed light wire (!) and bent branches.
This tree has been an absolute nightmare. We were excited to try it after reading such positive reviews. For starters, right out of the box, two of the bottom branches were warped when constructed, and tucked in at the base at 45 degree angles, so that they were jammed under the branches next to them. It's difficult to describe clearly, but suffice to say, they did not arrive properly folded, and I had to bend them badly to get them unstuck. The problem with this, aside from the bent branches, is that the tree's lights are strung on the tree body after the branches are folded up (apparently). So, the light strings were improperly applied to the warped, bent branches. When I forcibly extended the bent branches, the light strings were not wrapped around them at all. This means there are two glaring, dark spots on those bottom branches (the largest branches on the whole tree). It's very noticeable from close up and from a distance that the tree's lights are all screwy. To top it all off, one of the light bulbs on another part of the tree had apparently broken off at some point during the manufacture process, or during packaging. As I worked on fluffing the tree to see if it was salvageable, my finger brushed against a bare light wire, and I got a nasty electrical shock. This was the icing on the cake. The tree itself looks fairly cheap. It's not the worst looking fake Christmas tree on the market by any means, but it certainly doesn't look like a quality tree up close, either. My fiance and I went into this excited and looking forward to a new pencil tree for our home. We're walking away from this whole experience disappointed. The tree did not make up up for the holidays; we ended up purchasing a real tree on short notice after this one failed to live up to basic expectations. Look elsewhere for a good pencil Christmas tree. This one has quality control issues. ... show more

Decent tree for that small empty space or if you have limited space for a tree. I used these in my entryway and front room off dining room. It is a little sparse but if you have lots of ornaments, they will hide that. I suggest using the normal size balls or big ones, not the small ones as you will need to fill in gaps. Bigger balls means less is needed. I also recommend shorter hooks. But it’s easy to set up and great for the price. I bought 3. YIKES. First Christmas in new house. Here are a few photos, I’m still decorating one, but they fit nicely in the spaces I wanted. The third one I took to my office to replace a really crappy one. I’m pleased with how they turned out. One reviewer said too many plugs showing, if you run them down the middle of the tree near the trunk, you won’t see them. I also had no issue with any of the lights. Yes, some of the lights were wound a little tight on the branches, but if you take your time you can unwind it a little. It does need a lot of shaping, it just came out of the box. I’m hoping since I didn’t force them back into the box, it won’t need all that shaping again. But it is a skinny tree, doesn’t take that long. I’m very happy with them. Can’t wait to try the third one at work next year. Btw, all the balls on these trees came from Amazon also, as well as the tree skirts and toppers. ... show more
