These were really nice rocks-reminiscent of the ones my sister and I would peruse at souvenir shops as kids. My kids had fun picking their favorites, and then I chose some of the remnants for a decorative piece that needed some pretty pebbles.

I bought these because I like to set up fill a bag rock boxes at gatherings and it looked like a nice selection. I thought some of them might make nice pendants because of the 3/4 inch size. Well you get what you pay for and nothing more. I see no reason to buy 10 pounds as a gift. They aren't anything spectacular. Many aren't even close to 3/4 inch, the polish isn't great, a lot are square chunks. Very few round or oval stones like you would expect them to be. The most disappointing thing was that with the NatGeo name, I expected better quality. I wish I had spent 2.5 times as much on a mix from Rock Tumbler. Oh well, I'll be able to keep the bags at 5 dollars while I save up for better quality stones. The packaging was nice. Unfortunately, there are a lot of stones that can't be identified easily with the chart included. I haven't had good luck buying stones on Amazon but keep trying because of the prime shipping.

Ive been ordering the 10 and 15 lb boxes of this item consistently for over a year now, and considering the price, the product is very good. You can find similar stones in a crystal boutique and pay 2000% more for one piece, than you would as a part of a big box like this (not kidding.) However, my only complaint would be that initially the boxes had a nice variety will many colors and types of stones, but lately the boxes have been predominantly white, black, and brown chunks, with not a lot of color variation.
