This is my first time buying a nathan James piece and I'm pretty impressed. It looks really quite nice for the price. If you look closely yeah you can tell it's not real wood but compared to other similarly priced items I've seen or bought it's much better. I've only had it for a day but it seems quite sturdy. It too maybe an hour to put together (which is what they estimate it would take) and the instructions were very clear and with well-written English. The doors hung nicely and swing easily, and shockingly the instructions include a guide on how to adjust the doors if it seems quite not correct. Really happy with this purchase. We'll see how it holds up for awhile but if it does I'll be happy to buy more from this brand in the future. ... show more

These cabinets are really beautiful and well-made. The instructions are really great and easy to follow. All of the parts are labeled really well so it is easy to put together. The only drawback is that it is difficult to get the doors to line up and look even and it is why I took off a star. There is a flaw in the design. I figured out the best way to do it was to lay the cabinet on its side when I applied the door so that the hinges were laying flat. That seemed to help, but they were still a bit of a challenge. I was a bit hesitant to order this because particle board furniture can be a bit touch and go as far as quality. While it won't pass for wood, it is definitely better looking than the build yourself furniture from Ikea and other big box stores. The included hardware is also great quality. The directions are easy to follow and the accompanying diagrams are clear. I especially appreciated the extra directions on how to manipulate the hinges to best level out the doors. It took me about an hour and a half to complete this by myself. The herringbone pattern of the doors is more subtle than the Amazon picture makes it look, but it is still very nice looking. I appreciate that the metal base is offset from the main cabinet: it allows the main cabinet to be flush with the wall without hitting the baseboard. Overall, this product is worth the cost. I would purchase it again if I needed something similar and would choose this company again for other furniture products. ... show more

We bought two of these cabinets because we liked the style and it was the correct size for our project. We installed cat doors and used them to hide litter boxes. It worked very well for this. However, for the price I think it could be a little more sturdy. The MDF is higher quality than some other furniture we have, but I wouldn't expect this to hold up to much abuse as it seems to be just a little wobbly. Nothing a couple well-placed corner braces wouldn't fix. I just think that for the cost, it could have been included in the design. Over-all happy with the look and quality, just not thrilled on price. ... show more

Quality of finished product: Spectacular. Looks just like the pictures in the listing. It's a nice, solid storage cabinet. Pros: Arrived properly packaged, with all the parts properly labeled, and the instructions are adequate. If you have put together other furniture, you'll be fine. It took me 1 hour 45 mins. (The instructions "warn" you not to use a power screwdriver, but I did, and the universe is still standing. Just be careful not to overtighten.) Cons: None really - except that as I was putting it together I kept thinking, "This is NOT a project for someone who has never done this before." So if you have never done other furniture-in-a-box assembly projects, do not attempt this without some help. On an "easy-medium-hard" scale for ease of assembly, I would call this one medium-hard. ... show more
