This product is 100% as described. For the cost, it is 5/5 for material, strength, aesthetics. If it were $500, I’d rate it a 3 star. But it wasn’t. Instructions were a 4/5. It could have been a little more detailed to make it faster. Bonus that it is written humorously, but also a little annoying since it wasn’t super clear. For one step the screws didn’t go all the way in to be effective. But I don’t care because it’s still very strong without that little piece. Total build time at a leisure style was 1.25 hr. It could have been a half hour with two people. It’s pretty simple. Tips: - at the end to install the doors it is helpful to have a second set of hands to hold the door. I didn’t want to wait and managed it by myself. - my doors had a 1/2” gap at the end. Which I was very unhappy about. After taking a break, I used the last page of instructions that give tips if the doors aren’t positioned nicely. They worked. Now my doors are perfect. So do use those tips for the doors. - if you have any other issues, contact customer service. I purchased a table from Nathan James a year ago. There was damage to one main piece. They took care of it quickly and professionally. And even sent a card in the mail to apologize for the inconvenience. I was impressed and appreciative for their commitment to customer service. So now when I shop for furniture, I look at their products first. I trust them to resolve issues, if any. ... show more

Assembly took some time and reconfiguration, because I wanted to raise the unit on higher legs, then included in the package. I almost assembled it backwards from their instructions, and build it up in pieces from the bottom, not the top as suggested. I also found that attaching the doors on their hinges to the sides first, helped to align them. this is the first time I’ve used these sorts of hinges, and I did have to adjust them so that the doors fit flush. But it helped me to assemble these flat on the ground using parts of the Styrofoam included as braces to level them up. I wouldn’t say that you could move this piece around a lot. It’s basically just a box but it’s pretty. 🤣 and I pretty much ignored the instructions but everything was well aligned and went together smoothly. I would recommend using glue on some of the joints, but it’s not necessary. ... show more

I was a bit hesitant to order this because particle board furniture can be a bit touch and go as far as quality. While it won't pass for wood, it is definitely better looking than the build yourself furniture from Ikea and other big box stores. The included hardware is also great quality. The directions are easy to follow and the accompanying diagrams are clear. I especially appreciated the extra directions on how to manipulate the hinges to best level out the doors. It took me about an hour and a half to complete this by myself. The herringbone pattern of the doors is more subtle than the Amazon picture makes it look, but it is still very nice looking. I appreciate that the metal base is offset from the main cabinet: it allows the main cabinet to be flush with the wall without hitting the baseboard. Overall, this product is worth the cost. I would purchase it again if I needed something similar and would choose this company again for other furniture products. ... show more

This is my first time buying a nathan James piece and I'm pretty impressed. It looks really quite nice for the price. If you look closely yeah you can tell it's not real wood but compared to other similarly priced items I've seen or bought it's much better. I've only had it for a day but it seems quite sturdy. It too maybe an hour to put together (which is what they estimate it would take) and the instructions were very clear and with well-written English. The doors hung nicely and swing easily, and shockingly the instructions include a guide on how to adjust the doors if it seems quite not correct. Really happy with this purchase. We'll see how it holds up for awhile but if it does I'll be happy to buy more from this brand in the future. ... show more

While these cabinets look absolutely beautiful in the image and they once were. I am incredibly disappointed. I ordered one of these back in 2024 and it’s gorgeous. Looks identical to the stock image. I went to order two more as I wanted them in a different space and 3 side by side. When receiving the additional 2 I was incredibly disappointed, they have changed the door fronts. They now lack the characteristic of wood, they are darker and the stock images do not represent what I was sent. I did reach out to manufacture and was told “ it’s possible that the color tone may have shifted slightly during different production runs.” I will say this is MUCH less of a color issue than it is a characteristic and quality issue. The new ones look cheap and nothing like wood. They have offered to send me a set of doors to match but I’m just going to opt for a return as this is not what I was wanting. I have included an image, the one on the right is from a few years back and the one on the left is from recent. ... show more
