So I saw nothing but positive reviews on this and I ended up purchasing it as a gift for a friend's daughter who was turning 9. The box is very small compared to what I thought it would be. I am 5'2" and I could pretty much hold the entire box in 1 hand. The box came a little beaten up as well. If you plan to give just this as a gift, it looks WAY TOO SMALL so I ended up having to purchase something to go with it. I will say that since my box came busted up, I could see the contents inside the box and it actually looks extremely nice and well put together. My 8 year old daughter has thoroughly enjoyed making the gem keychains. It's something she can do completely on her own (without my help), and I like that it comes with hardware to make keychains and clips so she can do something with it after she's done making them and not just have another small craft sitting around.
