The Napoleon F-45 on/off remote control provides a convenient way to operate a gas heating appliance with the simple click of a button. The remote control transmitter operates with (2) AAA batteries and uses a simple 2 button On/Off system to transmit a wireless signal to the battery powered receiver, which uses (4) AA batteries. It's a simple remote, just on and off. Original equipment had a cycle on off function based on temp but I couldn't get that remote to work with this receiver even though it looks exactly like the original one. Used this unit to replace an old remote which was repeatedly failing (not a battery issue). I contacted Napoleon and they said that the remotes / receivers will periodically need to be replaced. I thought that was a little silly, but the new unit works great and looks very modern compared to the original remote. Simple on off operation, and works every time. Very happy. ... show more

    • Easy install, remote has long range
I put this in the wall next to the fireplace. It was easy to install. I then programmed my Bond Hub to control it via Amazon Echo devices. My only issue is that the cover plate is a little shallow and doesn't sit flush against the wall because I had to use an old work switch box. I tried shaving the inside of the plate but it still needs some work. Otherwise an awesome product. ... show more

It would help to have the on and off buttons easily seen in low light - perhaps different colors. I've added simple paint dots to mine. My dog and I like to watch movies in the evening with the lights low and the simple 1 and 0 don't cut it.
