This tool is legit! We bought a couple doors with glass in them and my husband is going to use this on them. He's weirdly obsessed with etching-- offers to do it on every piece of glass we ever get, I don't know why. And when I showed him this, he said yes immediately. I think the unfinished doors we bought have been sitting in his shop for a while because he didn't know what to do about the glass parts to make them look professional enough. That's where this thing comes in. It's got a lot of accessories, but you might already have the safety gear it comes with on hand. If not, then it's an even better buy. I think the cleaning feature is going to be the real clincher, though. The fact that this thing can remove rust without much trouble makes it so much more valuable. It's easy to use so far and I'll upload photos after he's attacked his first project with it.

I have a sand blasting cabinet but it has a limited amount of internal capacity. When I need to clean is a small area on a larger items that don't fit, having a small kit like this one will come in handy. For example, I have a trailer that I need to weld a couple of spots on. It sits outside and has a little bit of corrosion plus many of layers of paint. I could go at cleaning up those areas with any number of different techniques, but sandblasting is one of the better methods to quickly clean up surfaces that have contours or corners and get them prepared for welding, painting, etc. This kit is obviously a budget type of item and not particularly high quality. I do like that it has a gravity and siphon feed options. The hopper on board is relatively small, but functional for small projects. The body is die cast and most of the parts have a very mediocre fit and finish. The kit includes a couple of extra tips and O-rings - all consumable parts that will be needed eventually. In operation, the gravity feed tends to (annoyingly) spit out a burst of media when you first pull the trigger. I quickly learned to start the airflow and then turn on the hopper so as to waste as little as possible. The siphon feed actually works pretty well without giving you that initial spurt, though you need to make sure the metal tube stays submerged into the media. I may figure out some sort of a funnel system if I find myself using this more often than I expect. Is very important that you keep in mind that this is rated for 7 CFM of (dry) air flow at up to 150 PSI. You will need a fairly stout air compressor to do anything more than a few short blasts. I am fortunate to own an 80 gallon compressor with a 5hp motor, but even that is stretched to the limit. If you have a smaller machine you will probably be disappointed with the performance of *any* sand blaster. They are great tools when setup correctly, but are also air hogs. The supplied air should be clean, dry, and oil-free for the best performance. (That's actually a higher bar than most people realize.) This unit claims to be able to use Aluminum/Sand/Walnut Shells/Soda Blasting media. I don't see any reason it would not be able to use any of those. Each has a different use case, but always be very, very careful with selecting the proper PPE. I strongly recommend using a respirator, face shield, safety glasses, and gloves- at a minimum. Some of the media, when airborne, can be very nasty if it makes it into your lungs or eyes or...whatever. There is a lot of information to be found online about how to sandblast safely and you need to follow those recommendations carefully. Because this is a very common, generic item, I suggest checking other listings on Amazon to find the best value available. At present, this one is very overpriced even compared to the exact same item from the same vendor. You aren't getting higher quality, so don't spend more than you need to. I would certainly never expect to find this in a professional setting. However, for occasional use in small areas, I think it will work okay.

This sand blaster gun is great! This is an absolutely beautiful design that I really love, that is so easy to set up and gives you such control, as opposed to other sandblasting kits out there. I actually previously had one that was just a metal rod with the hose placements, clamps and some hoses, which was nowhere near as intricately and beautifully designed as this one right here, so it is huge upgrade for me, and definitely makes me appreciate it more, but that also gives me a lack of comparison as opposed to what else is on the market out there. From my experience, it is made from really great material that is durable and very easy to use and control, which is really just the main aspects and points of this. Absolutely zero complaints from me, and I love the awesome functionality as well as the power within this blaster, thank you so much!

This is a great value for everything you receive in this set. This sand blasting machine works quite great; my brother was able to utilize it when putting in doorknobs and it worked like a charm. It is pretty simple to use and works great. I do think this is best for smaller projects and that is exactly why I got , so that I could use it for little projects around the house. I like that it comes with the accessories including the gloves and goggles which are both useful and handy. Great sand blaster set.
