I got this as gift for a friend. He is 6 foot even, and I had assumed like most gaming chairs I've seen him in, this would be a good height for him. It was very easy to unbox, assemble, and get comfy in! The problem is that the back of the chair is oddly shorter than other chairs? I didn't read anywhere that it was made for kids or shorter people. For comparison I am 5 foot 3 inches, and the top of the back is barely above my head. No you cannot adjust the back. I recently started working from home and had been sitting on an old wingback living room chair until it tipped over falling backwards with me in it which is when I knew I needed a proper and comfortable alternative. I am 5'3" and weigh 140 pounds which makes me neither big nor small. I live alone so I assembled this chair by myself and am not an intuitively handy person. The instructions were easy to follow and the build was straightforward. I was also assembling a new desk at the same time so it's hard to say exactly how long it took me to build the chair but my estimate is around 20 minutes. One of my work duties requires me to monitor a medical chat every day for 8 hours to be able to respond at a moment's notice so it is a very sedentary position. This chair is extremely comfortable to sit in for these long periods of time and the main reason I chose it is because the arm rests can be raised when I prefer not to use them. I had spinal surgery 4 years ago and continue to have other bulging spinal discs and have had zero discomfort sitting in this chair for long consecutive hours. The included lumbar and head rest pillows are a very nice touch. The chair even has a smooth roll across an unevenly textured basement floor and has a feature to raise the seat which will be handy for tall people. I have it set to the lowest point and this allows me to sit with my feet completely touching the floor. Sadly, I have not even had this chair for a month and the seat is already stained from my clothing because I purchased the pink and white one. My clothes are not exactly brand new and I am usually wearing pajamas all day anyway while sitting in this chair so the stains surprised me even though I read other reviews mentioning this issue. I attempted to clean by using a paper towel and cleaning spray but this did not work. I will try other methods and products then update this review as needed. I will still give this chair 5 stars since it does come in variations of black where the staining will not be an issue. Buyer beware if you do choose a light color though. This chair was super easy to assemble and was good quality for the price. I ordered this for my son with a scheduled delivery date 2 days after Christmas which was disheartening because I really wanted it to be here in time for Christmas. The chair itself is worth the price, the seat is wide to accommodate most who can sit cross legged on it. Assemble was pretty strait forward and the hex tool was included. The lower back pad is not attachable it basically is like a pillow. The upper neck pad attaches with an elastic band so it may or may not slide up and off the top.
