I'm on the seventh floor facing west, with huge windows, so I get a lot of direct sunlight, making it uncomfortable to work at my desk in the afternoon/evening much of the year, with the sun blasting on my face. I don't like opening and closing and adjusting the blinds constantly as the sun angle shifts, plus, when the blinds are shut, the room feels too dark and gloomy. It's like the blinds either block too much or too little light: there's no happy medium. If I put this up instead, it gives me just the right amount of shade to be comfy without blocking all the sun and feeling like I'm in a gloomy cellar room. Plus, this screen is so light and easy to move, I can shift it frequently as needed, folding it to the best width to shade me but still allow light in. It's the perfect balance of lightweight and sturdy. I ordered a brown and really like the color and the texture of the panels. It's simple and elegant. Note: If you're buying this as a room divider, be aware that it doesn't provide 100% privacy. If you're on the dark side, you can see into the light side really well. From the light side, you can't see anything on the dark side, though. I think simply draping sheets or other light material would easily add to the privacy factor, though. ... show more

The reason for 5 stars, is that it meets our needs perfectly. I had read the online reviews about it not blocking out all of the light or that it isn't totally private but that didn't bother me. I just wanted it to block some night light coming through our sliding glass doors, and it does just that. The 6 panel is the perfect size. I love the bamboo look and it goes with the decor in the room. So far, it seems sturdy enough for our purposes. I received this today in great shape, no assembly needed, and right away I was impressed with how nice it looked. I had originally liked another folding screen but read the reviews and I'm so glad I did, because this one exceeds my expectations. I needed something for the balcony off of my bedroom outside in my new place, so I could enjoy both privacy and the outdoors, plus block a view into my room. I also wanted it to match my furniture, which is a light wood, in case I wanted to bring it inside. The screen is very well-made, the weaving of bamboo and some kind of metallic thread is pretty in the panels, the frame and feet are solid, and the brackets that hold it all together are sturdy. I think it's a bargain for the price, plus free fast shipping. I looped some zip ties around the brackets and onto my balcony rail and now it's not going anywhere. I bought the 6 panel bamboo room divider for about $180. It is light weight enough to move around with ease, but sturdy enough to stay standing when bumped into. Only gave 4 stars due to the fact that mine unfortunately came damaged, and I paid for a more expensive room divider hoping for the same quality. One panel has very warped wood and creates an ugly bubbling effect in the wood that cannot be fixed. Also, not the biggest deal, but one of the bamboo strips used also came chipped in one spot. ... show more

Ten family members were coming for a couple weeks and I ran out of bedrooms. We set up a queen size airbed in an area off the family room and used 2 of these screens to provide some sense of privacy. They worked great - just what we needed. They are good looking to begin with - far nicer than trying to hang a sheet or tarp. My 13 year old twins could sleep in without feeling like they were on display. the panels are surprisingly stable, even when almost completely extended. I would still recommend a little zigzag for best stability. Now that everyone is gone, I have folded them up and left them against a wall in the family room as I do not have a lot of storage for something that large. They are attractive enough that they actually look more like an accent piece than something in temporary storage. We ordered this to use at our pool gate as the neighbors can see right in. We also used it as a visual barrier in front of glass doors at a private party we had out at a restaurant. I have a feeling we are going to find many more uses for it in the future! Folds easily for out of the way storage. It offers a wide coverage area, is lightweight to move around and transport (yet heavy duty and sturdy not to tip over) and is a nice neutral color. This item seems way too expensive to me for the quality. It is a nice basic room divider. I would not call it a privacy screen as you can see right through it. I'll keep it, but have to throw a blanket over it for privacy.

This product is nicely constructed and look awesome in our room. We are using it as a privacy wall when we pull out our sleeper couch for guests. It expands to cover our 6 ft wide entry with a little folding of the panels; very sturdy with no worries about tipping. Our entry way height is 78 inches and this is 6 inches below that but the gap is fine for what we were looking for. There is 1/4" gap between the panels because of the hinges connecting the panels. It's built this way so the hinges can be flexible for folding. This isn't a problem for us because it does it's trick to provide some privacy for sleep over guests. It folds up to 2 7/8" deep You cannot see through and the bamboo panels are really pretty. ... show more
