  • Good
Good little “knee pad” for the iPad mini. It’s a pretty basic design, but effective. Keeps my iPad on my leg while flying so I don’t have to worry about it. 4/5 stars bc the metal pieces pop on and off the fabric when not suppose to. Also pretty expensive.

  • Works great for Ipad
This is a ingenious idea for my IPad for ForeFlight while flying. Very neat concept that just works.

  • Exactly What I need. No more no less.
Exactly what I need in the cockpit. Have been using it for several months. Holds my new iPad Mini in place throughout flight and doesn’t take up space and simple to use. The only thing about this product is it’s way too expensive for what it is. It’s a strap with some plastic on it and like $35. Should be priced $15 MAX. Classic case of companies inflating prices for anything relating to “aviation”. That’s the reason it’s not five stars. Other than that it has been great. ... show more

  • Should have started here.
I went through probably every other iPad kneeboard solution and suction cup mount to find ANYTHING that would work in my Tecnam Echo (Light Sport). Cockpit space really doesnt get much smaller than this roomy LSA so I needed something that could let me use my full sized 9.8" iPad in the cockpit. I know, a 9.8" iPad was a bad idea for an LSA but here we are. I tried every option trying to avoid this clip because I didnt expect it to be useful. I figured it was some over priced cheap clip that will barely hold my tablet and yet - here I am singing its praises. It holds the iPad tightly, and yes if used in portrait mode it does block a VERY small amount of the screen, you can slide the iPad in any direction to place the grips where they will block as little as possible. If that's still not acceptable, turn it landscape and you're set. They even have a cut out for the home button. I should have started here - with the low amount of space in my LSA and a giant iPad - this was truly my only solution from the start. ... show more

  • Works well, but could use a few tweaks
UPDATE: So I bought the AppStrap pad things on their own, which came with a strip of fuzzy tape to stick them to. I have the Smart Keyboard Folio on my iPad Pro, so I just use this kneeboard clip on the keyboard and sandwich the AppStrap “pillows” between keyboard/folio front and the iPad. Works like a charm! I had been avoiding getting any sort of knee board because I didn’t see the reason for it until one landing lesson my iPad kept trying to take a dive for the floor. Picked up one of these and it helped tremendously, as I wasn’t struggling with balancing the iPad on my leg while trying to work the rudder. My one complaint is that because the iPad is kept flat, I get terrible screen glare without something to prop the viewing angle up. I have a Paperlike screen protector on my iPad to make writing on it more enjoyable, but the downside is that glare obscures the entire screen for me. Would be ideal of they could provide a pillow sort of thing like they have for the AppStrap to alter the viewing angle, that would make this PERFECT! ... show more

  • Simplest, smartest solution
I’m a student pilot getting equipment I need as I progress through flight training. Using paper and traditional kneeboard at first, I upgraded to using an iPad Mini a month ago. I saw this clip as an option when looking at iPad kneeboard options, and am glad I chose what looked like the simplest, most cost effective solution because it works perfectly. It’s not bulky. The iPad is able to support itself without the need for a board behind it. I use an Apple Pencil to write with so no need for other pockets or holders. This fits the bill very well for my needs. ... show more

  • The best kneeboard I've ever used!
As a flight instructor, I always carry my iPad with me and I have to jump in many planes so having a kneeboard is convenient but most are two bulky. Also, mounting the iPad to the aircraft yoke is time consuming and could be a safety hazard if done hastily allowing the iPad to get in the way of flight operations. I can keep The myclip ulti in my very small flight bag and take it out at the moment's notice. The iPad is super secure on my leg and in my new Cirrus the positioning is ideal. I had gone away from the awards for years because of their bulkiness and difficulty getting comfortable. This product is absolutely awesome, especially if you use multiple iPads like I do. They all just clip in and can be easily positioned portrait or landscape or even changed mid-flight. No more having the iPad bounce around or throwing it in the co-pilot seat while preparing to land. This is a must-have for any pilot and if you are a flight instructor I would recommend it as a necessary tool. Dr. Robert Polselli, CFII Cirrus SR22 G5 Xi ... show more
