  • My Arcade, you've outdone yourself! Perfect on all fronts.
I've been collecting "My Arcade" cabinets for a while now. Their early minis, while always great quality, needed some work especially on the ROM side which always used the NES versions of each game. Their new Premium line, however, is exactly what retro fans were waiting for. The first in the lineup was the terrific Space Invaders premium arcade which not only used the original arcade ROM (finally) but also diverted from their classic "one-size-fits-all" mold which resulted in a unique collector's item. Now with this Street Fighter one, My Arcade has done it again. The cabinet is a beautiful, fully playable replica that should be exactly how My Arcade treats all their future cabinets. CABINET: The cabinet is actually bigger than the photos online, and looks very impressive in person. Quality exceeds the previous "basic" models (probably on par with Space Invaders). Marquee lights up, like all other Premium minis. The mold is high quality, as are the glossy graphics on all sides. SCREEN: Screen size went up from 2.75" to 3.5" and looks great. Viewing angles also improved, with no real viewing issues when playing. The cabinet's brightness can be controlled from the main menu - a great new feature that shows this one's actually using a much better chip inside. CONTROLS: The controls use micro switches - first for any mini arcade produced in the market. The quality of the controls is great, I didn't find the joystick to be loose like one review suggested. You can even easily mod the panel (by taking it out using the two side screws) and change the buttons or joystick if you'd like (you can also open this thing from the back, hint hint, and mess with the board). ACTUAL GAME: Not much to say, as this is the original ROM from the Arcade. Game looks and sounds great (volume can go wayyy up). Could perform all moves very easily thanks to the good controls. This actually rivals my Arcade1up machine in terms of playability. Overall, an outstanding machine - 5 solid stars. I can't comment on the CO/VS mode (2 player game) as I only have one machine, but I'm definitely going to get another one as soon as it's back in stock. My Arcade - PLEASE continue what you're doing and keep this awesome lineup of Premium titles. You outdid yourself with this one. ... show more

  • The Design is 10/10, but the gameplay quality.... 5/10
I was so exciting seeing the product was announced in 2020, because Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition was my favorite arcade in the early 90s. I finally saw this thing could order in Amazon, but 59.99? for only one game? Oh well, if it could bring back my high school memories, just take my money. When i first opened the shipping box, i noticed inside the myarcade box already a bit ruined by the long haul shipping. Good job Amazon packaging dept. I lifted the game packaging up in the air, I've already seeing inside the box the joystick itself was shaking like a jello. I mean what the hell? so I opened the box, yep the joystick was a bit loose that it looks nothing like the arcade which was firmed as F. the 6 buttons looked fine but they were not in right color order, that doesn't bother me. Turn on the game, its an arcade rom thank god. The screen quality was okay, but not as good as Neo Geo Mini, then I played a few rounds, choosing Ryu and Guile, i had no problem with any special moves except the dragon punch (aka the shoryuken). it seems it requires some practice in order to perform it consistently, however b'cos of the joystick was a bit loose, i am afraid that few more practice would break this joystick, so I put the game back in the box, place it in my bedroom closet, looking good for 59.99 which I don't think i will ever play it again unless my friends come to my place and begging me for a try. Bottom line, this myarcade SF2CE is more a toy than a video game. I really love the display. but for the gameplay, you can choose to play it on Nintendo Switch or PS4 for 20 bucks. ... show more

  • Awesome little arcade. Definitely recommend but has some issues...
Awesome little arcade. Good quality LCD and controls. Arcade rom. Definitely recommend but has some issues... However, to the nitpicky collector types like myself... the color sequence on the buttons are incorrect compared to the original arcade, which is a minimal issue only observed by the obsessive compulsive who want authenticity. There is also a small glitch when the joystick is in the upper right or lower right position and a jab punch is trying to be placed, but it does not really affect gameplay in any significant way. No memory retention after power down. If you want no sound in attract mode then you will have to select that option every single time you power on the unit. It will not save high scores. I have mine installed on a power strip with several other mini arcade games and would like to turn the switch on and have the game start playing, however this game boots up with the "one or two player" screen and will sit there stagnant until you choose an option. I wish that they would have placed a timer on the player screen so it will default to one player by itself if nothing is chosen after, say, 10 seconds. And it won't retain the dip switch settings you can select manually in the game. Otherwise a really cool little game that pretty accurately emulates the original arcade machine from my childhood. My Arcade, please take note on your next emulated arcade title, Please put a timer on the initial select screen so the game will begin playing automatically without having to push a button and also add flash memory to the unit so it will retain dip switch settings and high scores. And if you release any other vintage titles please consider using four-way joysticks for 4-way joystick games. 8 way joystick games used on 4-way joystick games make the game play pretty much impossible... the machines look awesome but are very hard to play compared to your competitors who released the same vintage titles. Keep up the good work, this was meant to be constructive criticism only by one of your big fans. ... show more
