I love the drums and so did my 3 year old. It’s a great size for a small toddler. The sound is good and didn’t need much tuning. It’s easy assembly and the black is pretty and shiny. It’s definitely age appropriate for a 1-4 maybe 5 year old. And easy to adjust. However, the screw become loose very quickly and the top of the foot pedal kept flying off. The foot pedal itself bent pretty quickly and high hat or cymbal stand kept falling down even after tightening. My husband is a drummer and did as much tightening to it as he could but they screws never stayed in place. My son’s set broke after 1 month.. if that! ... show more

I can’t express how happy my 2 year old is with this drum set. He plays them every day! The quality of the drums are great for the price! I do have a few recommendations though. 1. Watch your young kids around these. My 2 year old was able to unscrew a bolt on the pedal and started sucking on it. The pedal is a total choking hazard for young kids so we put the base pedal in hiding and only take it out when we plan to play. Granted he’s the son of an engineer so I’m not surprised he is disassembling nuts and bolts at 2. 2. Before assembling, use a wrench and tighten the nuts inside the drum where they connect together. If you don’t they will come loose. No manufacturer is going to use lock tite, so over time you may need to readjust the nuts/bolts inside the drum. I think many of the negative reviews on amazon are from People who expect absolutely no maintenance with a musical instrument. 3. Like any drums, you can hit them hard, but they will dent with abuse. Make sure your kids aren’t just whacking them as hard as they can. Even professional drums are not going to hold up to that kind of abuse For the money though I am extremely pleased with this drum set. They might require the occasional bolt tightening like anything else, but they’re made with pretty solid quality and I’m impressed! ... show more

I bought it as a christmas gift for my son. I wish I had returned it, It did good for less than a month, I bought it for my son, he's 2, I played it a few times (lightly) because I know it's for kids, just to help engage him and interest him. But it started falling a part by January, I kept having to fix it, take a part the head and the silver pieces, it kept loosening, my son hardly got the chance to play it, I'm really disappointed in my purchase, now it just sits in our living room collecting dust. ... show more

This drum has great sound for a junior version and looks just like a full size drum set. I bought it for my 5 year old grandson and he loves it. It's a little bit tricky to keep it assembled tightly, but if you are familiar with drums it will probably be easy for you to set up and keep set up. I think it will work for him for another year or so depending on how fast he grows and how hard he uses it. I will definitely keep it for the next one.
