  • I am *impressed*!
Size: 12 pods
First, a little context: I have been growing in indoor smallscale hydroponics since shortly after AeroGardens first hit the market, well over ten years now. I run a small blog that is primarily help articles for beginner to mid level hydro gardeners, as well as a FB group for more advanced folks/experimentation. I've tried out a lot of units over the years. So, it means something when I say I am *impressed* with these units! One of my 'random off-brand brand' units broke (not surprising, it's been having issues ever since I got it) so I bought this one to save my petunia seedlings. I just received it today, but like I said... I'm impressed. It corrected all of the issues I've had with other less expensive units in the past. The pump circulates the water up and to each individual pod, which aerates the water much better than 'just a bubbler'. In 'possibly even better than AG', it's just small channels that carry the water to the pods, rather than the entire deck being a clamshell that's almost impossible to get apart yet requires careful cleaning. It's equivalent tank size/number of pods to an AeroGarden Farm (12 pods and holds 2 gallons), though somewhere between a Basic and a Plus in height (17.5" max height vs 12" and 24" respectively). Another 'may actually do better than AG' point, the light goes *all* the way down. Like, rest it closer to the pods than the top of the plastic domes kind of all the way. (Lights not going low enough is a common complaint, because the light too far away can cause the seedlings to get leggy early on, which is somewhat detrimental with such a short max growing height.) The light *is* weaker than comparable AGs, that said, only 24w (vs 30, 40, or 50w depending on AG model), but that's about the only edge AGs have over it in any meaningful way, I think.... and that's not worth the price difference. The AGs have much fancier electronic components, but if you don't need those - or if you already have one to keep your schedules straight for you - definitely not worth the price differential. It's definitely worth considering for 'some extra space' instead of forking over several times as much, as long as it doesn't self destruct in a few weeks or something - which it doesn't seem likely to do, unlike some of the other 'knockoffs' I've had (like the one this one just replaced XD ) And yet the price is among the lowest of all the units on the market. If it holds up well, and the price stays low, I will be hard pressed not to pick up more of them in future! ... show more

  • Doesn't have a drain
Size: 12 pods
The MUFGA is very nicely made and looks good. It was very easy to set up and has everything in it except the seeds to get started, it does mention, no seeds in the advertisement so I ordered mini vegetables and strawberries to try. It doesn't have a drain though. Since you need to change the water often, I would have thought it had an easy way to drain it. I will find a container to place the top with the plants on when I need to change the water to make it easier to clean the water reservoir. I just received it and I like it a lot other than that. I also like the idea of having fresh mini heirloom vegetables and fruit all year long, so I am excited to experiment. The size is convenient and it has 12 pods for many different seed types if you choose. I did notice it has different light applications for vegetables and fruits, so I don't know if you can grow them together like the picture in their advertisement shows, but I am going to give it try anyways. Having an easy garden that is pretty much automatic once you set it up, except for changing the water as directed is a plus for a lazy gardener like me. The next one I buy will have a drain. ... show more

  • READY, SET, SEED IT
Size: 12 pods
So far I’ve overcome securing the internal water routing, pops are soaked, then I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t turn it on. Power light flashing, could not select the Vegetable, nor the pump. So, instead of laying my finger on power button, I slid my finger from power to pump and BOOM, lights came on everywhere! Very cool. I have 3 Aerogardens and this one. All similar, but I like this one as it has 12 pods as opposed to the 6 pod in similar pricing. Ok, ready to plant some seeds. Tomatoes and peppers… ... show more

  • Works great, great value.
Size: 12 pods
I have now purchased 4 of these as I teach myself hydroponics. They come with everything you need but the seeds. It has only been 16 days since I planted 18 lettuce and a 6 pack of aero grow pack of herbs in my first 2 systems and I already need to trim back the lettuce. Had 23 of my pods germinate and grow nicely already. I am very satisfied with their performance are the price point I purchased them at. The only problem I had on only 1 of the planters was getting the pump tube to line up with the top water flow area and making sure the water flow area was snapped together. Only took 30 seconds to get it snapped in and aligned. Love these. I actually plan on purchasing a few more when they hit the price point I like so spread out my lettuce and tomatoes so they can grow bigger and also allow to test different fertilizers as well. These are not so expensive that you cannot enjoy testing growing many different things. I am having a great time with them. I hope you enjoy as well. ... show more

  • Worked Great with lettuce!
Size: 12 pods
Instructions are a little sketchy as they appear to have been written by someone whose first language is not English. I watched multiple videos and read reviews to make sure I was doing things correctly. None of the herbs or the spinach I planted grew but I think I had water too low. Both varieties of lettuce grew excellent and I had my first harvest in about 25 days. Picture is after fist harvest of loose leaf and Bibb lettuces. ... show more
