This phone lives up to its description. I was in the market for a long time to minimize my distraction and recover my privacy. This phone facilitates both. Bone stock battery life is amazing, and I love the disconnect radios switch. With VPN and podcast app, Signal and XMMP client, 24 hours is the max for the battery. This phone handles it and will soon replace my iPhone 14 Pro Max for a daily driver. I have had it almost 7 days and have side loaded and tested many different apps. I love the e-ink display. Lastly I am looking forward to the very past due MuditaOS update, currently on v1.4. Definitely worth the money.

I have photophobia from migraines. I can't use regular cell phones because the light will trigger a migraine. I tried turning the light off on this, but it only gets very dim. It doesn't go off completely, so it's useless to me. Otherwise it would be a very good product.

Purchased through Mudita, but I have had the phone for about a year now and think it is a great blend of offering options for some necessary apps (through sideloading) and allowing you to disconnect. Full disclosure, I keep my old phone on wifi at home for things like duolingo and easy check deposits with my bank. The software has continuously improved over the past year. The phone's batttery lasts 4-5 days on average (recently charged on Sunday & didn't have to charge again until Thursday). The screen is easy to read and little touches like the offline+ button are terrific for people who genuinely appreciate disconnecting from the hyperconnected world. I have sideloaded a few apps which work for what I need them to do, but they are designed to look pretty on a color OLED display so they appear much more choppy. The phone always draws interest from people who see it - it is a great conversation starter, and it is a terrific size for a phone. It easily fits in the pocket, is easy to hold, and has stable cell signal on T-Mobile USA. I'd recommend it specifically for those who are already tinkering with digital detoxes or who are already off socials. If you are hyper connected, consider it as a second device for weekends or trips.

I didn't buy this on the lifestyle promises the marketing team sells but man.... They might be right. I'm far from an old white guy who's been stressed out from a corporate life looking to chill out in Thailand but I am cognizant that maybe all this screen time isn't good for any of us. My iPhone of 4 years was showing signs of disrepair so I thought now was an opportune time to look for a replacement. I started looking for "dumb phone" then came across the Lightphone and, with a bit more digging, stumbled across this one. I'd say the device's biggest draws were the longer battery life (5+ days and I'm thinking this is going to be true) and eInk display. I like eInk... A lot and the OS for this device makes good use of the display. If you are considering this device: temper your expectations. As far as utility goes, this phone is closer to Nokia's than iPhones. With mobile-first being big for companies, this phone goes in the OTHER direction and you need to consider if your lifestyle is capable of doing that. There is support for sideloading apps but if you have security blockers or REQUIRE Google then maybe this device isn't right for you. Maps are fine and even does search well. There's no built in browser and I LIKE THAT. If you're looking for a phone that takes you back to simpler times BUT has a hotspot for when you NEED internet then this is a GREAT device. I still use my iPhone for security, banking and other internet heavy activities but this is a welcome addition and my primary communications device and I'll be sticking with it.

Short version: This phone is fantastic. If you simply need a mobile phone for talking and texting, this is it. I ordered it directly from the Mudita website (because there were no reviews here yet and at the time, shipping was longer from amazon), it arrived in a week, took it straight to the Verizon store and they had it working within minutes. And the charge lasts for days. Long version: I had been looking for years for a phone that only had talking and texting for my children. I tried the Light Phone, which is very similar, but it wouldn't hold a charge longer than about 6 hours, it wouldn't turn off on its own and it didn't have a return option. So here I was stuck with a $300+ phone that died late morning every day. Then I tried one of the talk and text phones here on amazon and quickly discovered that they all only work if you pay for a monthly subscription which is on top of the monthly phone bill we're already paying. No thank you. Also the phone wouldn't work unless you use it through their app. I wasn't interested in anymore apps. Enter the Mudita. I found it last year but because it's from Poland and reviews from other websites said they couldn't get it to work in the US, I put off buying it. I finally found a review that said it works in the US but that you need to set up the sims card in a demo phone or your old phone first. So I bought it, easily got it to work and I LOVE it! It's exactly what I was looking for and a little more. There are 16 very basic apps and you can choose which ones to display and which ones to hide. You can see in the photo we have 9 displayed. It does have a camera but the photos taken are shown in grey scale. However, if you send them to an Iphone or Android, the photos are in color and look great! The weather default is Warsaw, Poland 😁 but is easily changed. So if you're looking for a simple mobile phone for talking and texting, this is the one. Update: Still working great but want to explain how easy it is to get group texting to work. The phone needs to be updated to version 1.4. Go into settings > updates > and click update. That simple!
