  • Top quality, looks good, tons of M.2, SATA, BT and Wi-Fi, everything works.
Size: ATX Style: PRO Z790-P WIFI
Ive been using MSI boards since 1998. They are the most consistently reliable for me, and I have tried many others along the way. This board keeps up the tradition, with all top end features, well built with high quality materials, heatsinks everywhere and my personal favorite UEFI configuration UI, most of which I dislike immensely. I did have to finally retire my trusty PCI slot M-Audio Delta-44, but onboard Realtek can record at 24/96 all day now so....... still a bittersweet parting with a card originally sold for use with Windows 98. The trade off is 6 SATA, 4 M.2 that dont share controller space, TONS of USB3, USB-C, built in Wi-Fi and BT, 2.5G LAN port that works with xfinity gateways, etc. Tech Support - very good, most notably in that I have rarely ever had to contact them. The best kind of tech support IMO, is that which I dont need to use. ... show more

  • Plug & Play. Super easy
Size: ATX Style: PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4
Have had this for a few years. Wifi works great. M.2 slots work great. Bios is kinda confusing if you're new to things like me but just google a walkthrough. No issues at all. The board is several years old so I wouldnt pay much for it unless its very low cost.

  • No issues with 13900k on Z790 DDR4
Size: ATX Style: PRO Z790-P WIFI DDR4
This board is really incredible for the price. It has everything you need for a gaming focused pc. The bios options are excellent. I'm able to run the TVB settings to get this to all-core boost to 5.8ghz while gaming. TVB I use a 50C -1 75C -2 with a 360mm loop it rarely hits 75C when gaming so it will bounce 5.7-5.8 1.32v at load line 3. I run the ring at 5ghz and memory is samsung b-die 15-15-15-36 4000 1.45v gear 1. CPU pulls 100-140W when gaming. Also the fact this has 4 nvme slots makes it so that I never need to use a sata ever again. I honestly can't see spending more than this for a motherboard when this really gives you a lot of value. I game a lot this has been rock stable. I'm very happy with this board. ... show more

  • Use 2 EPS power connectors (For CPU). Read for timing saving tips/learnings.
Size: ATX Style: PRO Z790-P WIFI
I've bult my own PCs for 20 years. This was by far my most difficult build. My setup: 1. Intel i5 13500 cpu. Has built in GPU. 2. MSI PRO Z790-P motherboard 3. 16GB Crucial RAM DDR5 4. Samsung 990 Pro SSD NVME 5. Corsair 750W power supply (1 12V EPS 8 pin CPU connector) 6. EVGA Nvidia 1660 super video card. I did not install right away as I wanted to install Windows 11 with Intel GPU. Let me start by saying that the manual is not clear if both EPS 12V 8 pin connectors are needed for CPU. I did some searching and everything I read said the 2nd 8 pin connector is optional unless you overlock. So I used the one EPS connector I have on my existing power supply as I will not be overclocking CPU. Problem #1 - No video on power up. Moved EPS connector from power 2 position to power 1 position (see photo). Issue fixed. Problem #2 - Windows 11 install program would crash right away (purple screen). I was using blu-ray disk & drive for isntall. Converted to USB Windows 11 install. Windows 11 able to install until online update step of installation. Problem #3 - Windows 11 install would crash at update step. I started to give up. As total guess I installed the NVIDIA 1660 super video card. This fixed the issue and allowed me to complete Windows 11 install. I don't understand why this was necessary but my theory is the single EPS 12V 8 pin connector is not enough power to run the CPU and embedded GPU on the i5 13500. Bottom line is use 2 EPS 12V connectors on this motherboard. ... show more

  • Very good board for price, appealing yet simplistic look, good VRM's, great BIOS & settings.
Size: ATX Style: PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4
I bought this board for the Intel i7-12700K. I haven't owned an MSI board in over 6 years, and have always preferred and went with ASUS. Have heard good things from friends even though about MSI, and etc. I upgraded to this from the Asus Rog Strix x370-f Gaming with a Ryzen 7 1700. It was hard for me personally to install in my compact case Lian Li II case (That I chose for looks). It was hard to find a medium-budget board for the i7-1700K, this was the best I could do. Appearance had part to play in with what I was looking for, so if that is something you do not care about, then you may be able to find an even cheaper board. I hated that I was going to lose RGB on the board (I know... I know... I just REALLY like it. My entire case/loadout is RGB'ed down). Although ironically it might just work out, as it's sleek black/grey/white scheme complements the RGB from the AIO CPU cooler, RAM, GPU, and case fans. One of the big selling points for me was the x4 m.2 NVME slots, as just recently I bought 2 NVME drives for storage, and my old board only had 1 slot with 1 NVME already in it. m.2 NVME SSD's were at the time not only the same price/cheaper than SATA SSD's, but obviously better performance using x4 PCI-E lanes! All for the same, or less price! So, it's obvious which storage to go with. Glad to see board supporting more slots for them. Temperatures as of speaking (Running Firefox and a You-tube video): CPU: 38C - System: 48C - MOS: 40C - PCH: 63C (This runs hot) - CPU Socket: 40C. Overall, pretty good temperatures, running my AIO Corsair H100I RGB Platinum cooler, 3 front fans, and 1 exhaust fan. Pros: It looks pretty decent, yet simplistic. Has PCI-E 5.0! USB connector for the front! 2x USB 2.0 ports for if you are like me and need these connectors for a AIO CPU cooler and an RGB node. Full surround audio jacks, and the biggest selling point for me - X4 m.2 NVME slots! With the first slot (Near the CPU) having a heat-sink with non adhesive pad for cooling. Cons: Fewer USB ports than my previous board (Which seems to be common now with boards unless you go more expensive). The old style IO plate you have to install in the case first, with the bare ports open (I bent the network/Ethernet port IO metal into the Ethernet jack/port on installing. No SPDIF digital audio out! Just analog! (I don't understand that. I guess I can buy an adapter if ever needed). No RGB! (Haha). Shipping: I have never ordered computer pars from Amazon until now. First time ordering a motherboard from here. The motherboard was left on my front porch, in the freezing weather. Thankfully, it was not raining. If it weren't for my camera's and Alexa, it could have sat out there all day. Also not good to have a $200+ part sitting outside for anyone to take. Overall: It is up to personal preference. It is a pretty solid board for the price. I would personally suggest going with the A model with WiFi and Bluetooth built in for just $20-30 more (As of when I purchased). ... show more

Used this motherboard for my first pc build. All of the cable placements felt perfect and not too difficult to install! The look of the motherboard is awesome, and the wifi speeds are fantastic! My only complaint would be that it only comes with a short quick start manual in paper. The full manual must be accessed online. ... show more
