Looks cool, works with my rig, and has great functionality. It has just enough USB's for your peripherals and probably more than most would need for data transfer. It seems perfectly stable too. If I had to nitpick I'd say that the dragon light is a little dim compared to the rest of my build and MSI tries to install lots of bloat. That does not lose a star for me though because I just downloaded revo uninstaller and nuked the bloat, and the lights still look cool. Also, the debug LED is fantastic, and you never have to guess what is wrong with your pc because it will just give you the error code for you to look up in the manual. It also defaults to switching to a cpu temperature monitor after booting which is a nice touch. ... show more

Used this CPU, on my first PC build. I've been using it for about 2 months now, it works great. The entire experience from installation to booting up for the first time was totally painless. I never had to get additional info, from what I already known from basic building computer knowledge. First time build with all new components, I have build pc with used parts. I totally recommend this Mother Board, it looks great, and the quality of the parts are great. Wifi, connectivity is faster as it uses one of the latest standards. Bios update happened as soon as I booted the MB for the first time, and it keeps updating itself.     • Beautiful Board but Ethernet Drops Under Heavy Load

TL;DR: This B850 board looks beautiful and handles my 9900X3D easily. The tool-free NVMe and GPU features make building simple, and the debug LED is incredibly useful. The only real letdown is the unreliable 5Gb Ethernet connection under heavy load. Full Review: I picked up this B850 motherboard because I wanted a strong VRM and plenty of NVMe slots at a reasonable price. Honestly it holds its own against a lot of the more expensive X870 boards out there. Running my 9900X3D and DDR5 6400 CL32 RAM has been great, and EXPO worked perfectly on the first try without any fuss. Building with this board was a surprisingly smooth experience. It has a dedicated button to release the GPU, which saves massive amount of hassle when working in a cramped case. The board fits four M.2 drives total - two Gen 5 and two Gen 4. I noticed the built-in NVMe passive cooling features actually does a solid job keeping the drives cool when pushing them to their limits. The debug LED is another fantastic addition that obviously helps with troubleshooting, but also doubles as a CPU temperature readout during normal operation. Aesthetically the white PCB looks amazing. The build quality feels premium, but you do need to be a little careful during installation. The removable metal SSD covers can scratch easily if you slip up with a tool. You should also double check your specific case layout before buying. The SATA and front USB headers point to the front (opposite rear I/O panel) instead of straight up from the board, which might be a really tight squeeze depending on your setup. The rear I/O is loaded with ports, giving me four standard USB 2.0 slots alongside several fast 10Gbps Type-C and Type-A connections. The included accessories are a sleek magnetic Wi-Fi antenna, SATA cables, plus a little block connector that combines all those annoying front panel case wires into a single plug. My last case didn't have that as a feature so I liked that it saves time and effort with some of the tedious wiring. They also threw in some nice stickers and cable management ties. My biggest complaint is definitely the networking. The Ethernet drivers on MSI's website were pretty dated going back to 2024. Whenever I push the 5Gb LAN port anywhere near its limit, I get heavy speed drops until it just completely cuts out. I really wish they had gone with Intel for the networking controller to avoid this. The Wi-Fi 7 works fine, though I am currently just using 6E on Windows 11. Even with the LAN quirk, I am very happy with how this board performs. I’m going to start off by saying I have been a big supporter of this company for as long as I’ve been involved with Gaming PC’s and components. After getting ready to configure a new system for the first time in five years, I came to find I wasn’t satisfied with the looks of nearly any modern AM5 motherboards. But when I stumbled upon the MSI MPG B850 Edge TI, I knew it was what would be going in my system. Had a very premium feel to it, looked great, and accommodated all of the features/accessories I intended to run. Upon assembly of the system and the first time powering on, I had found I couldn’t boot into the BIOS. After loads and loads of trial and error, I finally discovered the culprit. One of the pins in the CPU socket was bent, with luckily no damage to the CPU itself. After bringing this issue up to Customer Support, they were kind enough to inform me that there was a 0% chance the damage would be covered. So here I am with a $230 paperweight, and all respect for a major PC component company down the drain. ... show more
