I got the gf63-9sc-066 with 16gb ram and it runs Destiny 2 with no problem. I think if your looking for a more affordable gaming laptop, this is the one. Got this during an MSI sale, it is a solid value for money, I can run most modern games to medium to medium high settings without the laptop breaking a sweat, it does heat up more than I'd like. but the Cooler boost mode makes this laptop sound like a drone almost. Ok so let me start by saying I only bought this because of the cyber Monday deal they had, was essentially $800 to my door with a GTX1650 and 16mb ram. So my last rig was a 15” Razer Blade that was my absolute favorite. The build quality and overall presentation of that over this one is quite noticeable. HOWEVER...after updates, configuring fans and speeds this thing has played both Rust and Borderlands 3 without a bit of lag and also noticeably quieter fans. It does get warm but doesn’t seem any worse then any other laptop. So if you can get a deal on it, go for it. Not sure I’d pay full price but so far this thing is kicking butt. ... show more

I'm really glad I ended up getting this, it's perfect for my little games and it's really nice and customizable, it's got a great cooling fan and is really smooth the only issue I'd say is space but you can easily fix that yourself. I use this laptop for gaming (FPS, RPG, etc) and it runs any AAA title I throw at it! I also use it with trading stock and Forex markets and it runs very well! The thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that I can't access the built-in camera for whatever reason. I've tried everything and watched every self-help video you can find. I'm still not sure why I'm having this issue. But it's not a super necessary thing for me so the laptop serves its purpose. ... show more

The laptop is a perfect all-rounder. It can game very comfortably and can do basically everything you throw at it. The build quality is great. The only real downside was the track pad. It was very responsive but felt cheap. Overall, a great laptop.

    • Good for a year, then crashing with Windows repair loop

PROS: Great value for mid-range gaming, especially MMOs like SWTOR and Guild Wars 2; runs very quiet and doesn't come pre-packaged with tons of bloatware; a decent mix of peripheral slots 3 USB, 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI; light for a gaming laptop. CONS: Due to the design (heatsink/GPU placement), runs VERY hot above the function keys during gaming. Regular non-gaming use is not an issue. This can be mitigated with a cooling pad, but I do not recommend closing the lid for hours on end (for example, if you are using an external monitor) as the heat will likely warp your screen over time. FOLLOW-UP (9/5/2021): I changed my review from 4 stars to 1. The reason? The problem that I listed in CONS became a deal breaker after about a year. The laptop now overheats and will crash after gaming for more than 10 hours. Then it goes into a Windows repair loop because the GPU is freaking out. I think at this point, I have about a few weeks before the card is permanently fried. Poor, unsustainable design. Will never buy MSI again. ... show more
