Top Amazon Reviews

  • The best RTX 5090, especially when it comes to AIO-Cooled versions.
There are only two negatives with this card, and both of them are pretty much a given/inconsequential when you're buying something like this. #1: The price - that's NVidia's fault not MSI's fault, it's way too high, remember when the highest end NVidia GPUs cost $700? #2: The radiator fans use a proprietary connector, meaning you CANNOT plug any other fans in to the card's fan power cord for the radiator - this personally isn't an issue for me as I was planning on going to a Push/Pull configuration with Thermalright fans that are made for static pressure (and are $18 for 5 pack, look them up here on Amazon) Now for the review review, the good stuff, which is a lot: If you are looking for an AIO-cooled RTX 5090, THIS is the one. If you don't believe me, watch YouTube reviews comparing it to the Asus/Gigabyte models. It performs better on VRAM/VRM temperature/cooling than either of those, and performs about the same as them on GPU core temperatures. It's worth noting, doing Push/Pull does further lower core temperatures, but that is true for any AIO-cooled card. Overclocking as with any other RTX 5090 is pretty much the same, unfortunately these cards are so power-capped because of that 12VHPWR connector being capped at 600W, that there isn't a ton of headroom to push clocks. The card does come clocked pretty conservatively, and you can get a good amount more out of it by utilizing an Undervolt/OC curve via MSI Afterburner. After watching a YouTube video on suggested-stable undervolt/OC settings for the RTX 5090, I tweaked them a bit myself and I've tested 3 different settings as being at least mostly stable, all of them run cooler than stock, and consume less power, ranging from "about the same power draw as stock while faster" all the way down to "less power draw than an RTX 4090 while still performing better than a 4090". I've found that setting 2600MHz at 850mV is the best for pure power efficiency - as I just said, it still outperforms an RTX 4090 (which I had previously) while usually drawing LESS THAN 450 watts AND running under 45C most of the time. If you're looking for better than stock performance while still drawing less power, you can try setting 3100MHz at 975mV - this results in basically a slight OC vs stock, while drawing 50W or so less power and running cooler as a result. The build quality of the GPU itself is top notch - I would NOT recommend touching it with your bare hands as it is a fingerprint magnet according to a reviewer on YouTube, I've used latex gloves whenever I'm handling the GPU or dealing with the power connector etc just to be on the safe side. The braided sleeves on the tubing is also a nice touching, protects the tubes & makes them look more sleek instead of just being rubber tubes running around your case. The backplate gets quite warm when under heavy load - I've actually added a heatsink with a thermal pad under it on to mine just to help dissipate heat better, every little bit helps. The card, size wise, is slightly larger than 2 full slots thickness wise, and it's a couple of inches "longer" than your standard ATX motherboard when installed. The radiator is your standard 360mm radiator you'd find on most AIOs these days for CPUs as well. I have an old Thermaltake View 91 case, so I have plenty of room for radiators, I put the GPU's radiator up top as exhaust with the push/pull fan setup, while my CPU loop's gigantic-radiator is in the front of the case as intake. Do make sure you have a sufficient power supply when purchasing this AND I highly recommend you have a PSU with a native 12VHPWR connector, using the 4x8-pin adapter is asking for trouble given the reports of 5090's with melting power connectors. I plan on eventually setting this system up to do rendering workloads as well as gaming, so I got an overkill Asrock 1650W Titanium unit, the most load I've seen from the wall while gaming so far is around 700-800W (vs my previous PSU I was seeing almost 900W from the wall, that unit was around 7 years old & needed replacing for more than just the GPU power connector). Gaming performance, you should know what you're getting, the best. I run 5120 x 1440 resolution on a Samsung 49" display, usually at 120/240Hz, this card can hit 120+FPS in a lot of newer games, with the graphics cranked with DLSS on Quality. I've been playing Oblivion Remastered the most, and with DLSS set to DLAA, it still gets 80-120FPS depending on where I am in game, with the open world areas being the most demanding, and in most cities it's flatlined at 120fps most of the time cuz that's my frame cap for vertical sync. TL:DR from the top, this is the best AIO-cooled RTX 5090 out there, if you're shopping for this card, get it. It is AMAZING. Included some pictures of how the card arrives, and my system as it currently sits, still testing different fans & heatsink configurations. ... show more

  • Expensive but worth it
Came pretty quick. In fact it arrived faster then the 1600 watt powersupply i ordered to power it. The specs say you can get away with 1000-1200 powersupply. Note it takes 4 seperate pci-e power cords to power this card and it's fans, no split cables. Under full loads for hours, and in a moderately hot room, it has not gone above 74 degrees, and if needed to, it would throttle itself back for a few seconds. A great card to have and very well packaged. For all the liquid cooled i checked, and the specs it was the lowest priced for the quality build. ... show more

  • Premium 5090 build, great temps, transferable warranty.
High-end finish and design, the shroud is actual metal (likely aluminum), not cheap plastic, and I suspect it will be ultra durable like MSI's prior gen 4090 Suprim Liquid X has proven to be. Suprim Liquids seem to have an immortal water pump from my experience, so they didn't cut corners on this super important part. The 360mm radiator is overkill and unwieldy. 240mm would have been plenty for a 360W TDP, especially since I run at the lowest power limit that MSI Afterburner allows. Cool temps no matter what. Leave running at full load in your attic at the peak of summer without any case fans, no problem. Backplate stays a comfortable lukewarm to the touch under extended load. It's tedious to download & setup MSI Mystic Light just to disable the RGB LEDs, but it works and the settings stick without the need to launch the program after reboot. I leave all LEDs off to conserve energy. The radiator fans are high-end and the cable management is as snug and hidden as possible, no invasive fan cables to tend to. Performance is ultra quiet under load and the included GPU seems to be binned consistently high (have 4 of this exact model deployed thus far). Outstanding product, will continue to buy from MSI, especially for their Suprim Liquid model in particular. ... show more

  • Crapped out after a week's worth of use
Have had for about a week and has already crapped out GPU not detected by driver, register reads timeout with 0xbadf4100 error, GSP firmware fails to initialize. Tested with complete driver reinstall and physical reseat. Was running it for normal usage and suddenly no longer picked up by nvidia-smi and no longer displaying. Will update if MSI works with me on a replacement. So far no exchange being offered and MSI support is not being helpful ... show more

  • Overpriced massively
It’s a power hog, not really a good value.

  • Outstanding Cooling Performance – Stays Under 70°C Even Under Load
I’ve been extremely impressed with this water-cooled RTX 5090. The cooling performance is exceptional — even during heavy gaming sessions and GPU-intensive workloads, the temperature consistently stays below 70°C. The card runs smooth, quiet, and stable, with no thermal throttling at all. Performance-wise, it delivers everything you’d expect from a top-tier GPU, but what really stands out is how cool and efficient it remains under high load. ... show more
