Super easy to take out of the box and set it up, it arrived days ahead of schedule (which was VERY pleasing!). I bought this to be a couch in my craft room that can be converted into a bed for company to sleep on. Initially it is a little hard to form into a couch on my futon frame because it is very firm. But I don't think that's a bad thing. I see that as a sign of it's high quality and I believe that over time it will stay in the folded couch position easier. -Packaging and shipping were great. The rest not so much. -The mattress I ordered was more orange than the picture, which was disappointing as I was looking to get way from the orange. -It had multiple stains on it when I pulled it out of the package. -Not sure if you like sleeping on rocks but I don’t and this mattress is comparable to just that. -The stitch and button holes don’t look to be very sturdy and makes me wonder how much use I will actually get out of it. The smell of this fabric is horrible!!! I read all the customer reviews before I bought it and a few people mentioned an odor that “went away after a few days”. I’ve had it for a week and the smell is overwhelming. Guests have remarked upon the strong odor, my cat will not go anywhere near it. The smell gets on your clothes after you sit on it (people have asked me what that smell was). I’m not over reacting, the smell of this fabric is extremely strong and hasn’t gone away or lessened in the week that I have had it. I’m considering replacing it. ... show more

My parents moved in and my office is now my bedroom. In my office I had a futon just for sitting or if I ever had guests. I did not anticipate my elderly parents moving in, so I had to give them my bed. I have a horrible back, osteoporosis, arthritis in my spine, retrolisthesis, herniated discs, and just had surgery a year ago on my back. I was sleeping on a 2 inch futon mattress that was making the pain worse. I don't even know where to begin. This looks and feels like a pillow case stuffed with old t-shirts. I open the zipper of the futon cover to find this. This is also less thick than the length of my hand. 5 inches at most (advertised as 12). To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I've been catfished! Update: Amazon customer service couldn't have been more helpful in rectifying this frustrating situation. ... show more

Ok well I suppose buying USA made (?) isn’t always best. It states you don’t need a cover but, there’s no way to wash the one that comes on it due to added photo. The quality is not up to par and don’t get me started in the misleading photos of how this looks on the inside. I was shocked! If you need a new mattress, fine. You get find one much cheaper somewhere else I’m sure. This is just bogus. The smell is also nauseating. Smells strong of, burlap or something old. I want my $ back 😭 ... show more

It was made in the USA, which is awesome!! It arrived packaged well with delayed shipping. It has a plastic like smell when it was first opened, but it dissipated right away, once in place. It seems to be the 8 " desired thickness which we wanted. I think it would be a better product if it was not wrapped in polyester but we have covered it with a cotton futon cover to enhance the comfort and look. It is only for use in a spare bedroom and I think it will be durable and suit the purpose. It is definitely more utilitarian than a showstopper. Spend the extra money if you want one you don't need to cover. ... show more
