    • Works fine, flexible installation options
This is a very good mount. I have an older building so no studs anywhere. Never know where solid structure is. I mounted this on an interior wall, other side is inside a closet. But the wall is really sturdy otherwise. My TV is about 43 pounds and I wanted to distribute the weight. I drilled 10 mounting points and bolted the mount directly to the wall with 5" x 5/16" bolts and extra wide fender washers. Also, my TV mount points uses 1/4-20 machine screws which I had to buy myself because the supplied screws did not fit. Took my time, went slow and got the TV mounted in about 3 or 4 hours. I don't need a wide range of motion, and this mount provides more than enough motion. Mostly I use the adjustments to access the back of the TV. Overall a solid product, no regrets. If this mount comes down, it will be my fault, not the mount. For anyone mounting on a (sturdy) wall without studs or non-standard studs, this is a suitable unit. If this is not wide enough to match your studs, I'd just mount a very sturdy wood joist to the wall right into the studs and attach the mount to the joist. That goes for any mount you might want to use. Why a 4-star rating? -1 star for fiddly small screws for the cross bar lockdowns and for the tilt and level adjustment nuts. This is a bit of a pain and they could just as easily have designed this mount to use larger screws for simplicity and access. Used my own open-end wrenches rather than the supplied one which was kinda rickety and not as capable. I have no idea how other mounts are designed as this is the first mount I ever used. But I'd say if you are not much of a DIY-er, doing this (and maybe any?) mount on your own would be a challenge. ... show more

As stated above, everything went well, couple hour job making sure tv will be centered, right height, in studs, bolted up level. Had to use the smaller black spacers as washers because the short bolts were too long for the TV, but no big deal. Added some LED lighting to the back of tv for ambiance, hung it up. Man this is awesome, gonna be finished in time to watch a movie with my wife, what a great night. Let’s plug it in n I’m done. Oh, wait, really? Just really?? Yea, it either covers my plug, or my HDMI inputs. It’s not a huge deal, just annoying. My dremel made quick work of it. ... show more

    • Will not mount to 24" on center studs
Overall, a very nice, sturdy built mount. Had to return it because I couldn't mount it to 24" spaced wall studs. The main mounted frame is just over 16" with only the very outermost edges of left and right mounting holes reaching the 16" spacing. I had no chance on my 24" stud spaced walls. They should mention the 16" max stud capability in the title. I see now someone mentioned it in a prior review. I did read some of the reviews, but obviously not far enough to see that one. Please put the max wall stud length of 16" somewhere in the title or its immediate description once it's clicked on. Also, list it in inches. I can't imagine many people here in the states know how many CM on center their wall studs are (no shade to the rest of humanity)! Otherwise, (visually) this looks to be a very good mount. ... show more

    • Rock solid support and smooth motion and adjustable tension.....but, don't use the supplied level!
I've installed more than a dozen wall mounts and while it's not rocket science for the installation, the need to have a well made and solid mount is critical to have a nice level installation. Keep in mind that many flat panels are not balanced exactly and circuit boards, power supplies and other heavier components may be on one side. A level tv installation requires starting out with a perfectly leveled mounting. Then at that point, you can tweak the level of the tv as needed. Many mounts vary a bit from against the wall to extended and/or angled away from the wall. That's not a defect and it tends to hold true for every 43-55 inch tv I've installed. That's where adjusting leveling at different positions comes in after a primary leveling of the wall plate when you bolt it down. As for the supplied/disposable level included, toss it! Every one of these included cheapies is always off level by 3-5 degrees and the one with this wall mount was no exception! I used my Dewalt carpentry level to be sure it is right one. How do you verify a level is accurate: The trick is to place the level on a horizontal surface and see exactly where the bubble is for position, then rotate the level to the other side and repeat. If the bubble is in the "exact" same position for both side, the bubble level is right on! Repeat this for the vertical bubble too if needed. This is the standard and fast and easy way to be sure you're truly "on the level! (Pun intended). I found this mount does the job. Solid with smooth movements and it hold level pretty well when moving it in different axises. Tension for the movement points can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the nuts at these points. Heavier and larger TVs (55+) may required a bit of tightening the pivot points since they'll move easier when changing position due to their greater weight. Smaller screen TVs may be fine with looser pivot points. You'll want to be able to move the TV position with a little effort, but, allow it to hold position perfectly as well. That's where you tweak everything once the tv is mounted. If the TV will typically remain at a certain viewing angle for viewing, definitely adjust it optimally for that favorite position. If you find the TV is off level a bit, make the adjustments to favor the most used position. I've had mounts vary a few degrees and typically you won't notice that. If more then 1-2 degrees though, adjust level for best leveling where you'l be using it routinely. Also to note, this uses two strong arms for extension. I'm warning everyone not to ever buy a one armed TV mount! It just can't hold a heavier TV on good level due to insufficient bracing and support, especially when extended from the wall and/or angled as well for viewing position. 5 stars, and well worth the ~$50 asking price. Just remember to use a good quality level and be sure the level is accurate! ... show more

    • Wall mount bracket could be larger
Works well, but the size of the wall mounting bracket does not allow for it to be shifted sideways to match up with studs. I solved the problem by installing longer 1 x 4 wooden horizontal pieces long enough to span 3 studs, then bolted the wall mount exactly where I wanted it on the wooden pieces. If you are free to put the mount on any particular pair of studs, then you won't have to do what I did. I had no freedom to change the horizontal position due to furniture arrangements. ... show more
