One star removed for instructions that make Ikea furniture instructions seem like they were written by post-graduate English professors. That said, this when assembled properly is a VERY solid shelf that will easily hold a couple of devices without bowing. Make sure you are securing it to a stud, or using drywall anchors. I measured this exactly, and the cable management arm that sticks up is so flush with the bottom of my wall mounted TV that it's a bit hard to run cables... but once you snake them in, you literally cannot see wires. I will warn that the channel is a bit narrow. Don't expect to run four power cords and four HDMI cables through it plus a couple of ethernet cables, but if you are just carrying 5 or so cables, this will work out real well. ... show more

I'm using this to hold a center channel speaker that weighs about 15 pounds. One nice feature of this shelf compared to multiple others on Amazon is the fact that there is no support under the glass. There is a small piece that is under the glass that mounts against the wall but no arms extended out to support the glass. This gives a clean look. The whole shelf is mounted directly below my TV and the height of my speaker blocks the view of the shelf wall bracket. The speaker appears to just float there. The plastic of the shelf that is against the wall is a gloss black which matches the gloss black of the plastic around my TV. At first the shelf did sag a little in the front, but adding two small stick on bumper pads between the lower bracket under the glass and the wall fixed that. Highly recommend. This was a pretty nice product. It took me a little time to figure out how to install it, but it was pretty easy in the end. The pieces went together easily and made for a nice clean look when done. The cords can go through the back and be contained and hidden. The shelf is sleek and clean and can hold a normal sized cable box or a DVD player. I like it, but it was challenging to assemble. After mounting it to the wall & putting my equipment on it I found that the cable routing pathway was too small to get a 3 prong power cord thru. I had to loosen it & hold it away from the wall (with the equipment on it) while I snaked the cable thru. Then I had to reattach it to the wall with the cable in it. This was not a pleasant experience as I had to do it by myself (no helper) & it's a glass shelf & electronic equipment that I was juggling while pulling cable & reaching for screw drivers, etc. ... show more

I bought this to hang under my TV to set my center channel on. It worked out great - the mount is hidden behind the speaker, and the safety glass shelf is invisible under the speaker. When looking at it from the seating position, it looks like the speaker is floating under the TV. The only issue I had, which is not a fault of this item, is that the bass from my subs made the center channel start walking off of the glass. I just put a little bit of rubber shelf liner under the speaker and no more walking. ... show more

This product works well for us and the price is great compared to other models I have seen at Best Buy and other places. The shipment was fast and it was packaged well. It took two people to install and to manage to cords so that they could be hidden as best as possible. 4 thicker cable-size cords fit behind fine. Could have probably squeezed in another. Zip ties come in handy to keep them bunched together as you install the shelf. Seems sturdy and holds our two boxes on one shelf fine, but both of ours are lightweight. What a great option for a single shelf solution. You can mount this either right side up or you can invert the back plate if need be. I needed to simply because I was mounting this over a plasma T.V. I needed that hole you see in the photograph below not above the shelf. It takes a little getting used to the assembly but if you are mechanically inclined it will be no problem. If you suck at mechanical stuff, please don't give up. It will come to you, trust me. If you are looking for a small, modern looking shelf to hold a piece of equipment or two, this is it.
