  • Very good
Color: Black
This is very good desk frame. Very easy to put together and use. YOu just need a slab for it and you are good to go. IT does go up and down which is wonderful

  • I wanted to create a unique resin tabletop and this was perfect for that
Color: Black
I bought a straight piece of plywood to fit this base and draped an old tarp over the base while I worked on the plywood sitting on top. I sketched out a design and tried a few different things. I wanted to try embedded minerals (used some powdered turquoise, pearl and azuriite) after painting the surface black. I then used a clear resin with a couple of different irridescent mica powders in very small amounts in the resin to give it that shiny, gorgeous though understated look - also not to detract from the powdered turquoise and such. MY tabletop is my own and this sit/stand metal part makes my "piece of art" useful and I get to look at it every day since it's my computer workstation. ... show more

  • Has some issues...look elsewhere
Color: Black
Sadly, this desk frame has a number of issues! First, nothing is labeled so finding the right pieces and verifying you have all the right pieces before assembly is a pain. Luckily there aren't that many, and figuring out what goes where isn't too bad but labels would help. I guess on the plus side there are no annoying stickers to peel of when you are done. Next, the hardware, its just a bag of loose screws and misc hardware! Nothing is labeled (again) and in the instructions it uses both a label and a length (in metric) having the hardware better laid out would go a long way for assembly. Not to mention that they only give the exact amount of hardware needed and one of mine was not formed well so I am now short one bolt on the legs. After that is the frustrating controller. It is constantly throwing errors and when it does, it requires a reset by holding the up and down keys at the same time until it beeps. When you do that before it resets, it tries to lower down to the lowest setting which is unusually low (around 21") this is problematic because I have file cabinets below the desk, so I now have to pull those out to reset and I have to reset if I want to use the desk standing because once it throws the error it doesn't move until reset. I am probably being too generous here but I am giving two stars because the frame itself seems sturdy and the motors seem to work well (until it errors) but my suggestion is that if you are looking for a standing desk frame, keep looking, NOT recommended! ... show more

  • Controller betrays the frame at this pricepoint.
Color: Black
There is a lot to like about this standing desk frame. The controller is not one of them, and may well ruin the whole thing. Before we get into that, though, I want to touch on some important dimensions I don't see listed in the product details, mostly concerning desktop depth. Firstly, while the length of the under-desk support is 22.5", but the floor supports come in at 26". This was a bit awkward as most of the desktop options I was looking at were of a 25" depth. While that would have fit the desktop, the the floor supports would have also stuck out just a bit. Ultimately I decided to "upgrade" to a 30" desktop to avoid this. The other depth dimension worthy of mention is the distance from the outside edge of the center support to the outside of the under-desk support, 8.5", which will be important to know if you plan on installing an drawer or similar under the desktop. I had previously ordered an under-desk drawer system from Mount-It! for my old desk which had a depth of 13". Here too, awkward. A 32" depth for the desktop would have been required to make this work without resorting to offsetting the desktop from center. The desk frame itself is quite robust, and the three-stage legs do a great job at adding stability. From a seated position there is zero forward/backward movement, and little to no racking. Adjusted for standing position, a minor but very manageable amount of racking is present. The motors remained smooth and quiet even under the full load of about 125lb worth of desktop and equipment. Assembly was a quick and easy solo task, with straightforward instructions. The included hardware, surprisingly, did not include any spares. Now, back to this controller situation. Momma always told me "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Sorry, mom. This thing is ugly in the worst way (subjective, but I feel confident in saying most shoppers will feel this way when comparing it to other controller options) feels incredibly cheap, takes to fingerprints and scratches easily, emits a low electronic hum while the display is on, and has an obnoxiously loud beep when power is hooked up (just waiting for the day where I get woken up at 2AM to my desk screaming about a power surge...) The fact that the circuit board is plainly visible between the absolute gulf that is the spacing between the buttons is just icing on the cake, and a liquid-disaster waiting to happen. With this not being an altogether interchangeable part, I find it difficult to actually recommend the desk as a whole. Don't get me wrong, it works... and that's the only thing nice I can say about it (whew, saved!) ... show more
