  • Really Nice - Can't Understand Why Anyone Pays More
SIIG has made a really great quality heavy duty stand here and done so at a perfect price point. Let's just get that said up front. I put away my non-VESA compliant LG 24" 16x10 monitor, which I loved, and purchased two Planar 24" 16x9 touchscreen HD screens, and this stand with it. I was concerned about the arms being long enough to enable me to easily reach the screens come Windows 8, which was "the whole idea" but I worried for nothing with this unit. It comes packed very well and looks great coming out of the box. All matte black, heavy, with sturdy arms and equally secure joints. And plenty of those joints, making the thing capable of just about any configuration you want, including swinging either monitor to portrait without having to remove and re-mount. Nice value add. It tilts, rotates, does everything I could have asked it to do. It is very easy to install, since the arms themselves with backing plates are already set up. All you have to do is slap them on the desk with the sturdy adjustable C-clamp, mount your monitors, route your cables, and away you go. I simply wrapped my DVI cables over the arms in the back and you can only see them in between the monitors hanging neatly on either side of the base pole. Clean as a whistle. The tilt pivot on one of the arms was loose when I first attached the monitor but a quick look enabled me to see where to pry off the very well designed cap over the allen bolt, and tighten the bolt with the included allen wrench. Problem solved. The wrench fits all bolts necessary so no extra tools needed except a Phillips for the actually backing plate to monitor hookup. I have a thin desk, so I simply took a block of wood a little wider than the clamp across and about 2" thick and placed that into the clamp under the desk. Tightened it, and it's not going anywhere. The system looks so state of the art it's absurd! You cannot go wrong with this stand. You couldn't best it at double the price. Click "Buy". You'll be glad you did. And Amazon will get it there almost too fast! ... show more

  • Great stand..
For the price, and for what this is, it is a GREAT stand. It is built super strong, and does exactly what it needs to do. I saw some other complaints about this 1. Not being adjustable - It IS adjustable, it just isn't the sort of stand that you are going to be adjusting every day. You adjust it once to where you like it, and then you LEAVE IT! If you have the need to constantly screw with where your monitors are positioned, then you'll want to go get one of the 200-300 dollar adjustable ones. For me I just set the height I wanted, angled the monitors, and locked it all in and it has been great since. 2. Monitors sagging - I saw some people say that they stripped the bolt? And that they couldn't get it tight enough?? I'm not even sure how that is possible, the bolts that hold the monitors up are big 3/8" - 1/2" sized bolts. The only thing I can figure is that maybe they were using the cheap wrench that came with the stand to tighten the bolts down and it stripped, and/or it couldn't get the bolts tight enough?? I personally just grabbed my socked set and I was able to tighten down the bolt with no problem. 3. Not level - I DID have this problem. My right monitor was about 1/2" higher than my left, but they are identical monitors..I grabbed my level and started checking things out. The monitor stand was fine. It was my desk that was a little out of level, not a lot, very little in fact, but I guess even being out a little gets amplified by the time you figure out the main support and arms. Unfortunately the support doesn't come with any way to adjust level on these, but all I had to do was cut two very thin pieces of cardboard (more like thick construction paper really) and use them to shim the base a bit.. I thought I would need several pieces, but it just needed the two thin pieces and now everything is dead level.. 4. Too heavy for my desk - Hey, you're hanging two heavy monitors from a rather small footprint.. If you have a cheap thin desk, then you may want to put some extra blocking in there or something. It isn't the fault of this stand that you bought a cheap desk.. Hope this review is helpful. I wanted to leave a detailed one because I almost didn't buy this stand because of a few of the negative reviews.. I'm glad I decide to go ahead and get it. This is a sold, well-built stand, and it is a great price. Just take your time and use your head when putting it together.. ... show more
