I went through the process to pair the remote to my Xi5 motor. Did not hear a low tone, pressed the left/right arrows but heard nothing. Remote worked anyway so my theory is it was already paired? The bottom line is it controls the trolling motor.

Bought this in November when I got my boat serviced. I paired it and all was good. Started fish the last two weeks of April and a couple of weeks in May. Went to use it in June and it would not work properly. Changed the batteries and repaired it. Made the trolling motor work erratic. The remote was stored in a dry location when not in use. Wish I had waited to buy it during fishing season so I could have returned it. I bought a generic cheaper remote and it is working like a charm. I guess I wasted $143.00. ... show more
