They are fairly comfortable and warm to ride. The top gear pad on the left foot does protect a lot when shifting gears. Took one star because: 1- They took a while to break in, and hurt the top of my foot (where the shoe bends) for a good couple of weeks. I walked in them at home to break them in. I liked how light weight they were. I liked the comfort lever. Like wearing high top tennis shoes. But with lots of protection. You only have to lace them up just one time. There after there is a easy zipper that zips up and down from the inner side of the shoe. My first attempt at motorcycle boots was a bummer. They were so heavy and Restricting. I had to return them. I am a new motorcycle rider and female, and was looking for a decent pair of motorcycle sneakers. I took a MSP course and had problems with my engineer boots shifting gears because the toe box was thick. These eem to work well. I like how there is extra reinforcement on the toe area. I am a size 9 wide in women’s shoes and the size 7 fit perfectly. Your best bet is to go by European sizing. There is ample room for your feet, and what’s nice is that you can put them on with the side zipper and then adjust the laces for a perfect fit. I’m not crazy about red laces, and mine came with black ones, so I replaced them. They are nice an low profile. I’m not big on name brands. They look great, feel pretty good when walking in them. They are much easier to wear and shift gears than boots, but, they need to either be waterproof, or at least more water resistant.
