I'm not sure why I have not had a problem with one of these before? I put this in my 2005 Chevy Cobalt which is kind of a pain to accomplish. Right away the vehicle would not heat up to temperature? So this thermostat failed open right away! This was during summer so I just dealt with a check engine light, which is on of course because the engine doesn't make it too temperature. I wouldn't have left this go on as long as it did but it was summer. And the car has 300,000 miles on it. It's just a back and forth to work car. So I went with a OEM type. And right away it was working great! I would still recommend one of these if your thermostat is easy to get to? ... show more

    • No 160 thermostat for the ECOTECH?
I failed it on purpose before I install it. If I want to warm up the engine faster what's your recommedation?

After a week the "Failsafe" function activated on its own. No overheating or other issues with vehicle. Last 2 weeks have been fine after Re-replacing with a basic thermostat.

This is the only Thermostat I've ever bought over the years where the o-ring gasket isn't already installed what a pain Good luck keeping it on never buying another MotoRad.
