    • Doesn't look like my OEM thermostat, but seems to be working great.
I replaced my OEM thermostat on my 2004 Toyota Highlander 3.3L about two weeks ago. I was suspicious that my OEM thermostat failed, because my engine was running a bit cooler than it normally does (I'm pretty sure that's what happens when you have a fail-safe thermostat). This thermostat looks a lot different than my OEM thermostat; it's a lot lighter and just feels cheaper to be honest... So I was worried putting it in, especially because I had to dig quite a way into the engine to get to the thermostat. Nevertheless, I took the leap of faith, and it's been working fine. The engine temperature is exactly where I think it should be now while I'm driving. By the way, it does not come with a new gasket. I was hoping that it would... I ended up just taking the gasket off my OEM thermostat and putting it on this one, because it looked fine, but I would have much preferred to replace the gasket too. ... show more

    • Does NOT Fit a 2005 Scion TC
Despite claiming to fit a 2005 Scion TC, the product I received is at least a quarter inch larger than stock in diameter and doesn't fit within the thermostat housing. I figured maybe the gasket being squished between the housing places rather than inside it could work and tried, and it immediately shredded and leaked coolant everywhere. This product does **NOT FIT A 2005 SCION TC**. ... show more

It is a theoretical 5 star. I has not failed. I have had them in the past. They haven't failed and if they did I wouldn't really know it till the winter time. Which is a good thing.
