Cracked my 2020 version so I bought this, loved the silver. It's been a few weeks so here's my take. Going from the 2020 Verizon version to this unlocked silver 2021. I'm going to list more cons than pros, but this is me nitpicking at minor things because I'm comparing it to it's predecessor. Pros: - I can't tell a difference on screen quality, but also I didn't purchase these phones for screen quality either. - No bloatware as compared to Verizon phone. - Micro SD card slot Cons: - Going from Verizon phone to unlocked carrier phone seemed to lag on the activation for me to make calls (although I could use data and text). Next day it worked though, not a problem. - Camera. The quality itself is very good to me, and even though the quality is better than the 2020, they switched to pinch zoom instead of sliding up or down on the right side of the screen with one finger. Cannot comfortably do a zoom in/out with one hand and risk dropping the phone lol. - Battery. Again, it's very good still. Lasts all day and still have around 50-60% when I get home from work. Now, because I'm comparing this to the 2020, the 2020 lasts longer. I'd get home with as much as nearly 80% left. - Fingerprint scanner. This is a pro and con for me. Pro because I can unlock the phone when it's on a dock and not have to grab the phone. Con because of the way I hold the phone sometimes. I can feel me accidentally touching the scanner and it trying to register my fingerprint. - Vibration strength adjustment - Not adjustable on this phone but 2020 has it. - Can't use Verizon's Call Filter. I think that's it, and I'll update if there was anything else I was missing.

This was supposed to replace a Moto E6, which I really like but which has storage issues (it has 16gigs). When the G Power arrived I opened the box intending to charge it before setting it up, and immediately noticed how heavy it was in my hand. Onto the postal scale it went - 7.3oz (206gm), compared with my E6 which is 5.7oz (162gm). That's a big difference. That was bad enough, but it's also big - 6.5in (166mm) compared with the E6 which is 6in (151mm). It doesn't fit in any pockets I have. I put it back in the box and started looking online for something smaller. That's turning out to be difficult - apparently "bigger" is the general trend in phones these days - but I haven't given up yet. In the meantime, I realized there was no way I would be able to use this G Power so I returned it earlier today. It gets 3 stars because I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt - it's a Motorola, it would probably have worked fine. If I had ever actually turned it on.

Overall, I'm happy. We usually hold on to older phones until they absolutely won't work due to broken charging ports or a battery that won't hold charge. I've even extended old phones by getting the battery replaced or the USB port repaired (always fun because the repair places get iPhones in for broken screens more than anything and don't keep other parts in stock). It was finally time to replace ours, and this unit had great specs for the price, and much better reviews than the newer model. I will say, the finger print reader doesn't work nearly as well as my last model that had it in the middle of the back. That worked perfectly every time. This one doesn't. I think it's because it's recessed on the power button so your finger doesn't always align just right. The camera works well, but Android keeps changing the control software to do stupid things which is annoying. I just wanted to take a simple picture. This shouldn't be so complicated. Other biggest issues is that with Verizon (and I assume other carriers) you cannot do native video or HD calling because you didn't get this phone from them with their crap-ware preinstalled. Now, as an embedded systems developer I can attest that is total nonsense. All of the carriers could have complete compatibility with video calling anyone if they wanted. They just want to lock you into their stuff. But I can't fault the phone for that. It's a corporate greed problem.

I ordered this for my sister because she lost her phone. The phone is great, however, it came with a obvious scratch on the screen. I suggested we exchange it, but she didn't want to go through more days with no phone, or to do the whole set up with data porting again, so she said to let it go. But I am very disappointed to discover that. Despite that, it is a great phone for the money. Too bad.

He had a moto g power 2020 (which is supposed to be better) and what I'm using now. He's using it without complaints says he can't tell much difference on the downgrade associated with stereo audio output he had with the 2020. Update 2023.01.19 I've now bought one for myself and I got it for about $130, no complaints. So far as good as the 2020 and brought back some nice effects from the 2019 (Motorola power g7). I wouldn't spend a whole lot more on a phone that is only marginally better. Great Phone!
