My mother in laws car began feeling like the transmission was slipping while driving and the speedometer was bouncing all over the place. I tried replacing the VVT magnet solenoid first, which didn’t fix the issue. After replacing this, the car now drives perfect. It’s easy to replace on a 2007 Malibu. Just remove the coolant tank, serpentine belt, and power steering reservoir, and the solenoid is under where the power steering pump is. You don’t need to remove the power steering pump. Just unbolt and push to the side. The old solenoid can be hard to remove. I use some needle nose pliers and elbow grease to get it loose. ... show more
