  • Decent starter bag, doesn't have a lot of rigidity, but has ample storage.
I was wondering why this bag was so familiar, and then it hit that I purchased the hardshell version of this bag 4 years ago. The hard-shell version definitely felt a lot more structurally secure and protective than this case. There's a lot of flexibility and bend in the bag and it's greatly affected by how you put the partitions in the center. There is a little padding on the bag but it doesn't feel like enough if you are using heavier equipement such as Canon L glass that's 2.8 or faster. The bag does feel effecient enough for mirrorless camera systems using more prosumer middle range glass. Packed with a Canon R8, RF 28-70 F2.8, RF 70-200 F4 and a few other things the bag felt perfectly fine as a bag. But I tried putting something a little more robust like a 5DSr with F2.8 glass or a R5 Mark II with a 28-70 F2 in the bag and it just didn't feel substantially enough to protect and secure the equipment. Setting up the bag isn't a pain at all. The velcro points are VERY considerate and fortunately they have bands for the velcro and it's not the whole texture of the inside of the bag so you won't get scratchy hands if you dig around your bag. I wish the bag had more smaller zip up pockets. There are 2 side pockets to hold memory cards, and 2 bigger zip up compartments in the upper lip of the bag but otherwise the other parts are tension retention things like pen holders and bigger pockets. I suggest you bring your own battery holders and accessory holders for this bag as it doesn't have small compartments but rather bigger ones. It does hold a laptop fine, and it also comes with a weather protecting sleeve. They considerately put a zipper pocket you can put the sleeve when it's not needed. This bag isn't bad. It doesn't inspire comfidence with how "flimsy" it feels, but if you put the partitions in a solid pattern it really helps with the structure of the bag. I don't suggest this bag for anyone looking to lug a lof of heavygear around. If you have a decently small to medium weight equipment such as a mid level mirrorless camera (no extended grip) with a few primes, a couple standard zooms and a strobe than this bag is probably perfectly fine as a nice standard bag. I still prefer the hardcase version, but one upgrade this does have compared to the hard case older version is the side access pocket and the extra pocket on top. ... show more

  • Make a Pass
The overall construction of this pack is good. Lots of pockets and double zippers abound. Decent padding on the side that goes against body when strapped on. The main problem is not enough Velcro strips inside the pack. The dividers don't have enough grip because of this short coming. The dividers should have Velcro patches on both edge sides instead of only one side. Another problem is no diagram included as to how to arrange the divider inserts. I used the advertisement example for help. The longest dividers have Velcro strips on both sides, a left/right configuration would be perfect and provide versatilely for the arrangement of gear. I do like the side zipper opening to access equipment and not having to open the main compartment zippers. The only take back is that part of the interior is limited for divider options. Shop around and if you can find camera backpack/bag in a store to make sure it will fit your needs is the best way to go. If it's cheaper (price) online go for it, then you will not be disappointed. ... show more

  • Does not protect your camera from bumps and bruises well
I ordered this backpack to protect my DSLR while photographing nature. My first disappointment was that the backpack arrived folded in half, indicating it was not structurally rigid. This is a soft case and backpack. The only structural support it has is the rubber feet on the bottom. It is pretty flimsy but is soundly made for what it is. There were no stitching or holes in any seams in the product I received, including the Velcro dividers. Also, the zippers are protected, so they will not scratch your electronics. I wonder how durable this backpack will be because the user is swinging it from the ground or a table to their back. Lenses and cameras are delicate objects. You can’t handle them in just any way. This backpack does not provide enough protection to carry the intended gear it is supposed to support. The side opening to the middle compartment for easy access to the camera is a waste. It takes an additional five to ten seconds to open the middle compartment. Having this side compartment affects the sturdiness of the middle compartment. I would have preferred some rigidity in the sides of the backpack instead of a side compartment. I couldn’t imagine carting the complete camera and lens selection, laptop, phone, and tripod with this backpack without damaging at least one of the components. While the backpack has several compartments, and the idea of the rain cover to protect the electronic equipment is a nice addition, it should either concentrate on being a camera bag or a laptop bag, but not both. I can make this backpack work for the few times a season I head out, but if you take photographs professionally or plan to use this daily or weekly, I would consider something more substantial. ... show more

  • Stoked on this camera backpack!
The backpack comes with several dividers that you can configure however you want I configured mine as pictured, to allow 3 cameras as well as accessories or another lens. There is a computer sleeve too, you can see that in the pictures too though I think I put it on the wrong slot though the 16" computer does fit there. There is another slot that is against your back where I think the computer is meant to be placed. There are mirad other pockets for other accessories. I think this backpack is great for shoots where you want to bring less gear and be more mobile than a larger rolling camera bag. Plenty of room inside yet light weight and a rather clean minimalist design. Feels quality, feels well made, the zippers work well, the pockets are nicely lined. I think this is a great camera backpack for location shoots. It also comes with a rain fly that you can cover the backpack with if you're gonna be caught in the rain. ... show more
