Packed with features that demonstrate a true attention to detail including the latest in technology, compliance, quality, and styling, these headlights are designed for enthusiasts who are serious about all the above, even if it comes at a premium.Maximum Performance: Thanks to an all-new generation of Morimoto Bi- LED projectors, the XB Evo headlights will meet & exceed the highest standards for headlight performance that are set by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety... which is a tough mark even for most modern luxury automakers. Here, the F-150 XB Evo headlight utilizes dual Bi-LED projectors to deliver unmatched light output, with an incredibly bright and wide low beam, and a high beam that destroys darkness. In high beam mode, two dedicated 1Banger combo pods add even more intensity and coverage. All optics are powered by the latest OE-grade automotive LEDs from Nichia in Japan.On Road: The Morimoto XB Evo Headlights are DOT compliant with all FVMSS108 regulations for on-road use in the USA. Their projector optics are so capable and efficient that their LEDs are only driven at about 50% of their full potential intensity to avoid exceeding limitations set by compliance. The vertical aim is fully adjustable within +/- 6 degrees for a perfect alignment on any F-150, even with a lift. The system was designed in California by Morimoto’s lead optical engineer, Yoshi Ishida, to deliver maximum visibility, comfort, and safety, and that it does. Note: Due to the separate adjuster on the auxiliary high beam pods, this feature is not compliant for on-road use.Off Road: Yes, you read that correctly. Out of the box, XB Evos are only producing a fraction of their potential intensity for compliance reasons. Want more light for your off-road adventures? The optional Supercharged LED driver boosts both low and high beam intensity by 30-50% - all without sacrificing reliability or warranty. While the Supercharged drivers easily enable the XB Evo to outshine every other headlight for the F-150 on the market, we must reiterate that they will result in non-compliant levels of peak beam intensity, and therefore should not be used on public roads.Frost-Free System: Our patent-pending heating system warms the surface temperature of the headlight lens to minimize frost buildup when driving through wet and snowy conditions in the wintertime. When the temperature drops below 5 degrees Celsius, the system is enabled to operate on your command by flashing the high beams four times. From there, it will automatically maintain temps within the headlight housing to mitigate frost buildup on the lens.
