I wanted to leave a review because I saw mixed reviews when I bought this. I was able to get a Little Tikes Dream Machine so I was actually going to return this because of the mixed reviews I read. I decided to keep it and give it to my daughter now instead of as a Christmas gift. My daughter struggles with having an attention span to sit through stories. She loves the Moonlite projector and wants to read the stories all the time! We read them so much that I am sick of reading the same stories over and over and I had to order more. There are so many stories available for this! There seems to be better deals on Moonlite’s website than on Amazon. It isn’t hard to line the projector up with the camera at all. Before the story starts they provide a grid to show where to clip it to your phone and to help line it up. The stories are on an app and they add music and sound effects to the background of the story. I definitely recommend this! My only concern is that if the flashlight gets moved on future phones then this product would be obsolete. Then I would have tons of stories and no way to project them.

I hate this thing it’s so hard to hold up in the right spot I have to lay flat and hold the phone flat too. my hands shake slightly cus it’s heavy to hold that way. It’s a pain in the ass to read click the screen multiple times for the sounds and then turn the wheel, while trying to get my toddler to lay down. A mess. I wanted to love it. It was hard to place on my phone in the right position too. And u can’t multi task using other apps while the big ass plastic piece is on the screen. Ugh just no. A nightmare. My toddler also loves grabbing the pieces so I fear he would lose or chew on the circle pieces.

I love this product. I have a 9 month old that has started having a difficult time sitting through a book and pretty much exclusively wants to chew on them. This product eliminates the battle and though she still occasionally loses interests, she will tune in and out and likes to look at the pictures and she can’t eat them so I consider it a win. I enjoy the stories and added touches too. My only downside to it is that it isn’t very secure and I have to adjust it to clear up the picture after turning the wheel often. Other than that, I’m a big fan and immediately bought more stories. A fun experience and great way to expose my kiddo to more words and pictures without resorting to television. I plan to use it in the car on a roadtrip also and at night. Lighter than packing a bunch of books.

I have tried multiple times to get a clear or even a semi-clear image with this and I can’t. It is not worth the money when you can’t even tell who the characters you are reading about.. EDIT: Someone reached out to me and helped me to figure out what exactly I was doing wrong and now I’m getting a much better image and experience. That along made me want to review my first review on the product. I’m not sure if it’s just my phone but the bullseye doesn’t line up in my app and Moonlite projector. That may have been why I was experiencing some issues. But after playing with it I finally aligned it correctly and got a much better image.

I was so excited to receive this because I was sure my daughter would love it. She does - I don’t. I have a few complaints but the biggest of these is that I didn’t receive the package I ordered. I had already struggled through the app setup and entered the activation code before realizing it was not what I ordered. I’ll take half the blame for not being as observant as I should have been. I’m placing the other half of the blame on the shipper. I tried reading through a story but it was just loads of text from a complicated Disney movie. I wanted the simple fairy tales so that I could easily adjust the story based on my toddlers need to go to sleep. I was really disappointed by this. The app walks you through everything, but pay extra attention because, if you are like me, you won’t find the app intuitive. So many instructions….just so many. I struggled and I don’t typically have issues with stuff like this. I should have waited until my child was sleeping before going through it the first time though I’m not sure that would have solved all my struggles. Despite being careful to keep my phone in the same position throughout, the pictures were continuously going out of focus. I kept trying to adjust it, but my kid didn’t have the patience for that and the wall of text I was trying to get through. I tried to see if I was bumping anything when I changed pictures, but I don’t know how you would hit the focus knob this way. It’s a mystery I will hopefully solve at some point. One thing I did think was neat was that some of the words in the story are interactive. If you touch the word it will make a sound. My daughter loved the pictures, music, and sound. It did make her a little wild during a time when we’re trying to settle down, so I might have to slightly adjust bedtime routine if we are going to use it regularly. Here’s to hoping the next story goes better.

The product is such a great idea of introducing young children to reading which is so important in this day and age of new technology.
