I have a few messy buns I bought here on Amazon that I throw on for virtual meetings (I work remote). I wanted to try something new that wasn't quite so uptight looking. This one is a much better match for my hair (very highlighted dark ash blonde) - a little more variation would be a better total match but it looks real. There are wire/cord things inside of it that you can bend to your own tastes. At first I didn't realize that and bent them all around to try different looks - I was afraid they would show. They DO NOT at all, no matter how I style it - so versatile! I bend it up higher and out further for normal wear but closer in for work. My daughter (25) knows I wear the messy buns but she saw this one and said "wow mom, your hair looks so cute!". Claw is VERY strong, in fact a little difficult for me to open. It won't fall off ever. I wore it to work (in person) and I needed to adjust the prongs a few times throughout the day, but I absolutely love it and the claw didn't budge. I would like a little more color variation but the messy bun styles I've tried with highlights were TOO different in color for my hair (like brown and blonde chunks together). My natural hair in the front looks a little brassy in my pics, but it was right after highlighting. Some purple shampoo got a near-perfect match (I always tone a few times after highlighting because I hate brassy). I pull my own hair back into a tiny, tight bun and just clip this on. I pull a little hair over the top and bobby on it there and one on each side because I'm paranoid the clasp will show. It doesn't though, but it looks better that way to me. I'm going to buy a spare because I love it so much. Perfect length for what my hair would look like if I spent an hour poofing up my own pony. Buy it! It has wires in the hairs! This would be perfect for “Crazy Hair Day” at school! I’m not so sure about regular use, though. It weighs 3.8 ounces, so it’s not that heavy (I think it’s actually average for this kind of thing), but it feels kind of heavy on my head. * It doesn’t shed! Yay! * The color matches my hair! Yay! * It smells a little strange, but it’s not strong so I’m sure it’ll dissipate in a few days. Hmm. * It does not lay natural in any shape or form. Boo. Claw Clip Measurements: Bottom of Claw to Spring: 1” Open, Claw Tip to Tip: 1-6/8” Open, Claw Base to Base (middle): 2-1/4” Open, Claw Base to Base (outer edge): 2-1/4” Closed, Top Edge to Edge (just under spring): 1/4” Closed, Bottom Edge to Edge: 3/4” It’s just…awkward. It’s very messy where the “base” of the ponytail should be. I thought I could hide that by putting my ponytail on top of this (I just wanted a bit more thickness to my ponytail) but that just makes me look like I should audition for a part in Hairspray.     • Realistic looking, quick hair do but a bit heavy

I have reasonably thick hair but this was still pretty heavy. If you have thin hair, this would not work. You need a pretty hefty pony tail or bun and more hair below and above to grab with the claw clips. Once fastened onto my head, the color match was great and the hair piece wasn't so shiny that you could clock it as fake from across the room. But it is lot of hair. The claw clip is sturdy and you arrange four wires to the style you want, with a higher bump, etc. You will need a mirror to check how it looks from the back so the wires and clip aren't showing. This could be arranged into a pretty updo or massive bun as a well. It would be great for weddings or special occasions, particularly if you put a decorative hair pin or barrette where the claw clip meets your head. The hairpiece came with a hair tie and bobby pins. Fun, lovely piece that's not hot like a full wig but I don't think I can carry this off as a daily look. I definitely will use it for special occasions. ... show more

This claw clip ponytail is fabulous. The color match is great and though it is a near perfect match for me, it has enough shades that it would be good for a wide range of tones. The fact that the top layer is all on wires is so awesome. It can be styled in so many ways from a manicured ponytail to a messy bun. It is very easy to use and the claw clip is very sturdy that will hold thick and fine hair without issue. It was very poor quality I did not like it at all, will send it back i have ordered a lot of wigs ,hair pieces .but this one was pathetic not even fit for Halloween. Please send me a label to send it back .white ,claw clip was too heavy just not good at all.very poor quality.
