  • Decent kids tablet
Color: Green
Update: Started glitching like crazy right before our return window closed. Unfortunately, we returned it. Prior to the Leap Pad, we had a kids kindle 7. Compared the kindle, the Leap Pad has way more parental controls. This is a plus for me. The kids kindle unlimited content was showing my kid all kinds of stuff despite me explicitly blocking certain key words. The Leap Pad will allow your child to use Leap Search which connects to the internet. You can pre approve websites in the parental controls and even block certain areas of a website. I approved Outschool, PBS Kids, Lalilo, Explorify, etc. If you approve Outschool you also have to approve Zoom and log in. The only downside of the leap pad is that you cannot add “normal” apps. You can only buy apps through the Leap Frog store. They are priced similarly to what a game cartridge would be for the old Leapsters. You can also buy shows like Octonauts and RescueBots for the about the same price as a DVD. Or you can pre approve Netflix on Leap Search. The stylus on this is awesome when playing games, especially Leap Frog Academy. (The LF Academy is similar to ABC Mouse, it is not the equivalent of Amazon Kids Unlimited.) The built in stand is a bonus. The battery is garbage, it lasts about an hour fully charged. Bottom line, if you’re looking for an inexpensive kids tablet that’s easy to lock down, this is it. Screen quality/graphics are actually clearer than the kindle 7. ... show more

  • Great for toddlers!
Color: Pink
I was hesitant to buy this for my toddler because I don’t allow iPad or any screen time besides Netflix. But this has been great for short periods of time and there’s educational value to most aspects of the games. Also it was verrrry helpful on a long flight as well. Just don’t forget to get a case for it! We bought one initially and the screen got cracked and it didn’t work, so we had to buy another one (and buy a case too so it wouldn’t happen again). ... show more

Color: Pink
I bought this twice. The first one was great! The second one i bought Didnt come with a charger, And its glitchy but rather than returning the device i contacted the manufacturer and they’re working with me! Thats the only reason im giving this 5 stars. I would give whoever a zero star if i could for not paying attention to what is missing in the package!!!!!!!! 👎 ... show more

  • Great for toddlers first iPad!!
Color: Green
This leapfrog leap pad does what it should. Long lasting battery life= long lasting fun and learning. It was very easy to set up. Parent control. It has decent amount of storage. My 4 year old son loves it. It has different apps and also demos. You have the option to buy games on the leapfrog app store. Also you can purchase leapfrog academy for $30 a year. Definitely worth it as it teaches your child from pre-k to grade 12. You can set what school level there at and it shows what games they can play. Pre-k games are like matching colors and shapes, counting, tracing letters and ect. They also can watch videos. More fun for a visual learner with counting it shows the numbers while they count. It has perfect brightness and sound. It is freeze resistant depending on the wifi connection. It's just as described. It doesn't come with headphones. Also it doesn't have Bluetooth. But I recommend it has a lot for the price. Definitely worth it for learning fun and definitely worth buying the leapfrog academy. You and your child will love it, You won't be disappointed 😍 ... show more

  • NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE
Color: Green
So, I originally bought this for a 12-hour road trip to Canada for my 3-year-old. I purchased this tablet thinking she would love it while also getting more benefits from the educational aspect. However, not even 30 minutes of usage, she was throwing tantrums due to the screen lag. At that point, she didn't bother to use it for the remainder of the trip. For this reason, I ended up returning it. During the setup, I decided to try the “90-day trial” for more apps as there isn't much offered without the additional subscription. Unfortunately, it was late at night and I mistakenly made an error while entering my email. After returning from my trip the subscription was supposedly cancelled, and the tablet was restored to the factory and returned. To my surprise, months later I’m still getting charged!? I reached out to Leapfrog customer service and no one could help due to the wrong email! I have provided the order #, phone number, the tablet’s serial #, card number that was being charged and still “they can't find any account with that information”. After multiple attempts at solving the issue with Leapfrog, I decided to go through my bank to dispute the charges. They kept $30 for the first charge, at this point I have up. At least I got back my other 4 charges of $30. Everything was fine until now. Apparently, I’m being charged again because I “resubscribed”. How is this even possible when I haven’t had the tablet for months!? ... show more

  • Amazing product, but kind of expensive product for limited games.
Color: Green
Love this item! Love how personalized you can make it and my 3 year old loves it! Reasons for 4 stars and not 5 is the battery life is ok, but needs charged after several hours. Got it for long car rides to visit family a few times a year and need to charge it before the car ride home. Also, since my daughter is 3, she doesn’t hard power it down when she’s done with it and that seems to drain the battery if not used for a while. Other reason would be that yes, it’s made for learning, and yes, she maybe does learn a little bit, but not sure how much actual learning she’s getting from it instead of just playing around. Not a whole lot of games without a subscription. Expensive product for just a handful of learning games unless you want to pay an expensive subscription for a plethora of games. Has given hours of distraction on car rides and definitely love the product. Kind of expensive but I got it on a Black Friday sale when it was 50 percent off and that felt more worth it to me. Do wish it had more game options without a subscription. ... show more
