This unit is really incredible bang for the buck. Even inexpensive modelers these days can sound good, and with the 1.5 and 2.0 software updates, this thing sounds fantastic. I updated to the 2.0 firmware and loaded a few of my own IRs, assuming I'd need them, but the stock cabs on the amps that I've messed with have not needed it. Nice stereo reverb and delay effects, great touch responsiveness under the fingers. I use a PAF style humbucker and P90s and play the unit in stereo through the aux input of a Yamaha THR, essentially a small battery powered FRFR. GREAT portable rig. Among its limitations are the lack of an effects loop, inability to re-order effects or use multiple of the same effect type, no parallel effects chain (can't do dual amp/cabs), and I miss the GE200's lighted buttons that go straight to a particular block in the signal chain. On the GE150 and GE150Pro, you have to spin the knob and scroll to the block you're looking for. All of these are normal limitations for multi effects pedals in this price class. The update process on macOS has Chinese language dialog boxes, but just clicking the button moves forward through the process like it should. The macOS computer software shows Chinese language as it starts up but snaps into English when it finishes starting and works very well to quickly edit patches, load IRs and MNRS amp captures. I haven't tried MNRS captures on firmware 2.0, but they sounded fantastic on firmware 1.5. Overall, great value. You just need a way to hear it, like good headphones or an Alto TS408 or similar powered PA speaker.

I bought this because of its size. I wanted to take some basic gear on vacation. It's certainly NOT as fully featured as my BOSS-GT10. But, not many pedal are. I wanted all my gear including my guitar to fit in a suitcase. I have to say, for the price, you get a lot of presets that work just fine for about any genre in a compact battery rechargeable unit. With a headless guitar, wireless transceivers and a mini-Amp this thing works great. I'll have 8 days to play with it on vacation. I doubt that I will figure out all of its capabilities in that time. Just noodling around on it for a couple of hours was all I needed to know it will get the job done and then some. I might even use it to record and for small gigs. It's just too convenient, easy to set up, and you can't beat being cableless in a compact space.

So, I love the look (except the green side-panel) and feel of it. The pedal is a bit small, but works well. The software is well thought out, and UI/UX great, once you understand the concept of how it has like “Banks” (groups) that allow you to setup a sound for different needs, say one for rhythm, and one for lead. Where it falls short is that you can only use a single pedal from a group such as FxA or FxB, and they group stuff together that should be in separate groups. To get more groups, you have to get the GE1000. If I had programmed it, I would have maybe limited it to two Fx groups, but allowed you to select those 2 from say 6 with proper Fx groupings. However, that said, for this price point, it does allow you to creat many different Tones, and is way easier to carry than your pedal board. I hope they update the software.

Considering the$$ I paid for this, it has a lot of functioning presets that I really like. I've only just received it about 5 hrs ago with a 60% battery charge and after charging it to 100% I played on it for at least 2hrs. I did not read any of the instructions that came with it, I just started experimenting with it and easily figured out two different ways to go through all the presets, how to adjust all the settings in each preset, how to enable drum rhythm and adjust all the different drums, beats and tempos. Then I figured out how to use the looper, start record and end, dub over and clear it. I did a short track of myself playing lead over my own rhythm with the drum track changing after each bar, it's really cool! So, now it's probably time to get out the instructions to know which software I need to load for firmware updates, download other presets...etc. So far this has a lot of effects that I would expect on higher priced pedals. I almost went for some cheaper and more costly, am very satisfied with this ge150 pro. I looked at and compared features of many including Donner 2000, Flamma FX100, Zoom G1X Four, Boss GT-1, Asmuse MG-100, Sonicake Matribox, Mooer GE100. I believe this is a perfect effects pedal for me. It's loaded with a lot of great sounding effects that can be fine tuned to my desire and I haven't found anything that sounds cheesy or cheap. The build is all metal including the pedal, it is strong and functional, not cheap plastic like some others. I'll shoot an updated review later once I've plugged it into a PC and played with the software...etc. Update:12/25 VERY NICE EFFECTS and FUNCTIONAL for home, jams or small live venues is my take on this unit so far! This unit does a very great job with looping with the drums and dubbing in lead parts over rhythm and then I transferred it to my phone as a ringtone! All the parameters are so easy to edit and save. This is one truly amazing effects unit...I haven't any complaints!
