I love a good crap holder. I've got tons of crap. Big stuff, little stuff. Just all kinds of it. And I can't stand for it to be just piled around or disorganized or whatever. So I am always on the hunt for some kind of container that holds the crap and makes it look nice. I jumped at the chance to get this. I don't know why I thought it was just gonna be shipped to me in a box just like it looks in the picture. It's not. It comes in 5 pieces that have to be assembled. It is extremely sturdy once it's assembled. The assembly process was a bit of pain in the neck, to use my nice words. To start with, the board at the bottom of the crate was a little bowed. So it was a trick to get it in the slot it's made to sit in just right. And getting the screws all in was way more difficult than it should have been with a screw driver. If I'd used a drill it might have been easier but I didn't wanna run the risk of stripping out the screws. It took a lot longer to put together than I would have thought. This is record crate consists of somewhat fragile light wood panels. Once assembled, it is pretty sturdy. Overall does a good job of storing albums and should last a long time for storage although probably not intended for taking your record collection on the road. Nice product.

I’m using it for some small records, electronics, and knick knacks. It’s a standard sized crate with natural wood pieces. It was very easy to put together but as I was putting it together a piece of wood cracked as I was installing a screwdriver. I would suggest sturdier wood pieces and a sturdier bottom piece of wood to be able to hold heavier loads.I don't think it would be good for very heavy loads but overall very nice design and aesthetically pleasing. A nice clean look and easy assembly. Feels solid. I’m thinking about eventually painting it to have it match some other shelves in my space. Records fit in there a bit snug; don’t be surprised if wider box sets or gatefolds can’t fit at all. This is not a good crate for storing your records. It’s extremely flimsy, about the weight and heft of balsa wood, and it’s too narrow to store records for easy access. Some may not even fit. The instructions are easy enough to understand, and I put it together without having to follow them. But the screws don’t fit into all of the holes easily, and the tool for attaching them isn’t up to the task. Instead I used a Phillips screwdriver. One I got this together, I was struck by how lightweight this is. It barely weighs a pound, the mesh screen barely holds in place, and I could see this breaking very easily. This will hold about 70 LPs, but I wouldn’t lift it once the albums are in place because I’m pretty sure the bottom would drop out. Worst of all, LPs fit extremely tightly in this, and some don’t fit at all if they are even slightly wider than normal or enclosed in plastic sleeves that extend beyond the jacket. Want to thumb through your records before picking one out? Not a chance. If you store LPs in this lengthwise, they will fit with plenty of clearance for thumbing through them, but that reduces the capacity considerably. More than likely, I won’t be using this for LPs at all, given its flimsiness. At the current listing of $26 and change, this is a real steal — and not in the good sense. I am giving this two out of five stars based on its flimsiness and impracticality with the main redeeming quality being its appearance. I will revisit this review in the weeks and months to come if my opinion changes, but don’t count on it. ... show more

I wasn't expecting as much assembly to be required when I got this, but it turned out to be worth the effort. 16 screws - make sure you align the pieces properly so you don't have to unscrew and rescrew like I did. I also lightly sanded all the edges - all of them - for each piece because there were a few splinters hanging off and sharper edges, but that seemed to do the trick. Some of the screw holes were a little slanted but not so much that any of the screws broke through the wood. I did struggle with aligning the sides to slide the bottom piece in. The screw holes must have been about 1/8 of an inch off and it made the bottom not want to go in. I had to unscrew one side and flip around the bottom piece and then I was able to get it to go in. All that said, it's really solidly built, looks super sharp and is very sturdy. I actually got it for my cat. He loves to lay in anything - box, bin, basket, you name it - and I thought this was perfect for him because he loves to be able to see through the sides. I no more than put it together and in he hopped. So it's great for a cat hideout and would be great for just about anything you'd like to transport in it or display. ... show more

I had a couple of those metal stands and honestly they just didn't work for me. The player sits too low to the ground and I'm not a young person anymore. Not to mention the constant dusting. I need simple these days and putting the player on top of an old buffet I moved into my office and sitting this cube right next to it is a much better situation!!! I expected it to arrive fully assembled, but it wasn't. You have to screw the corners together and it's really simple to do once you figure out that the tool they include with it, (thoughtful for those who don't have tools) is trash and go grab one of your own.
