If you are familiar with file folder boxes aka bankers boxes, this is exactly the product you are looking for. If you are unfamiliar with these boxes, they are excellent for storage. File folders fit perfectly, but we also use them for general storage. We use these boxes for storage all over our house. Our spare storage closet is piled sky high with these boxes. They are also excellent for storage in regular closets and under (elevated) beds. In addition, we use them for transporting belongings to and from college. Labelled boxes make unpacking super easy. Since the boxes flatten, they can easily be stored under a bed. Alternatively, leave some assembled, toss a sheet over the top and voila! Makeshift table. PROS: — easy to assemble — sturdy — piles sky high with 450 pounds stacking strength — easy to label — very versatile — good size — easy to carry, handles optional CONS: — Be aware that the price fluctuates widely on all quantities of these bankers boxes. If you don’t like what you see, come back in a few days and look again. — When you change the contents of the box, you already wrote on it. I know of no easy fix for this, but you do have two sides you can write on. Over time, this leads to a lot of crossing out and rewriting. — Lids are like socks in the dryer. If you get enough of these boxes, over time you will find that you unfathomably have more boxes than lids. No clue how this happens. ... show more

I use these boxes for organizing my basement, there are a couple reasons I buy them instead of just using plain brown boxes with taped flaps. 1) They have uniform lids that fit every time and keep the dust OUT. 2) They are standard sizes that fit easily on shelves and hold just about any item from paperwork to toys. I mark them with a unique number on the outside, fill them with storage items, and then on a separate index card, I write the number of the box and IN PENCIL, everything within that box. I keep the index cards upstairs in a recipe box and the boxes themselves safely stored away in the basement. When I need to find something in storage, I go to the index card, find which box the item is in, and then locate that box. This organizational system works well for me and the only boxes that have been able to stand up to this use are Bankers brand. ... show more

The Bankers Boxes that I ordered arrived in a short time from Amazon. I am very pleased with my purchase of these Bankers Boxes. These are ideal for storing documents and other very important paperwork. The Price for four of them was very reasonable, and they're easy to assemble. If you have tons of paperwork and files like I do for personal financial stuff, getting a Bankers Box would help you organize all of this clutter. I really like them, and put them to use right away. These Bankers Box file boxes are easy to assemble, sturdy even when filled with files. I used some with hanging file folders. The hangers fit well and the box can carry the weight. For storage on a shelf these can't be beat.
