It's a great storage device, however it's a bit wobbly. I'm going to assume that I'll have to add a bracket or two in a couple years as it's moved around by messing with the record player that sits on top.

This review is for the HomeBuddy Vinyl Record Storage Crate: First off, I love the overall design and concept. It fits a lot of interior themes with a simple wood finish, it's stackable (although they don't recommend stacking more than 2 for stability, but I'd happily have these stacked and side-by-side), and it's actually a little multipurpose - more than just a vinyl holder. I love the sturdiness of it, and there is enough space that if you didn't have it filled up completely with records, it actually holds manuscripts/scores well, also. In the preview photos, it does show a nice turntable atop the crate, and while my small turntable does sit on it well, it's still a little large and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my turntable on top of it for extended periods of time for fear of falling off - which would be on me, because they do not suggest or recommend that you do that, but it is nice if you have a turntable that does fit on it. There are a few drawbacks or faults in the crate I received, however. Upon assembly, I noticed that the manual was for a different/older model. It made remarks about peg/dowel holes for stability that did not exist in the wooden slats on this model. Also, the wooden pegs do NOT fit snuggly into any of the holes that they're supposed to fit in - the pegs fit very loosely. With the hex screws in place, this doesn't matter as much because they do offer stability altogether, but during assembly (before you get the screws secured) they are very loose. The slots/channels that the records sit down in were also very rough and not sanded, so I would recommend caution or a protective sleeve before sliding any new/pristine condition records into these; my records are old, beat up, and worn in, so it doesn't matter as much to me because I just love the storage convenience, but I would not put brand new records in this without sanding it myself since they weren't sanded during production. Assembly was also slightly harder than it should've been because the manual listed "top/bottom/inside/outside" when referencing wood pieces, but none of the pieces were labeled at all and every piece - except for the slatted pieces that hold the records still - look almost identical on either side or direction placed. Lastly, the manual also mentions "4 wooden pegs" being included as a way to secure another stacked crate, but none of the wooden pegs fit in those holes at all; instead, 4 metal pegs are also included and those do fit, so I assume this was just another change when production changed and improved. Despite all of the troubles in assembly, I still love the end product and when I am able, I will be purchasing more so that I can store and display my entire vinyl collection rather than just a small handful for testing this product. ... show more

Not too great not too crappy it’s a box Works Easy to assemble Better than a milk crate I do have a turn table on it and some slbums under but also an isolation table on top of the crate you can’t not would you want to put a TT directly on the crate. This was easy to put together but did not fit my record player on top. It should come with optional wheels. I put mine in a dolly, it does what advertised but kinda expensive and basic.

My son's records were taking up way too much space. I needed to get them contained and this worked so well. All of his 20-30 records fit in the crate space and his record player sit perfectly on top. So happy with this. Keeps everything tidy in one place instead of scatter all over a desk, a couch, and underneath the desk.
