I had about 60 records or so, just standing up on a niche above my stereo and decided to find somehting to put them in to prevent any mishaps. After looking at a number of options, I ordered two of the X-cosrack Vinyl Record Storage Crates. They arrived in a couple of days so I set about putting them together. I put the two together in about a 1/2 an hour, they are nicely made and went together quite well and they look great. I really like the finish on the wood and the black powder coated expanded metal sides. I added felt pads under each corner to avoid scratching the paint of the space they set into. Now my records are secure and I don't have to worry about them sliding off onto my turntable. One piece of advice I have in regard to putting them together is, the sides are actually three pieces; remove them from the bags they are in and keep them together. Screw a corner angle to the front piece and add one side, then add the other side. Then you can slide the bottom into place and add the back. Don't tighten the screws all the way until you've fitted everything up and squared the crate; make sure it will set flat by putting it on a flat surface. Then tighten the screws completely. There seems to be a few screws that don't "lock" into the inserts, they'll just keep turning, but they are tight enough that it doesn't matter. This records box is very very easy to put together! I was surprised it wasn't in more pieces receiving it, but it is partially put together before you get it which makes it a lot let time consuming. It is, also, really sturdy and not flimsy but also light weight. I definitely recommend this because of those reasons and just because it looks nice, too! ... show more

It was very easy to assemble as soon as I gave up on the instructions: the sides called A are NOT one piece - they're 3 pieces that will fit together, but NOT stay together during assembly. Leave the bottom to the side. Choose one part B and attach all the wooden pieces of parts A to it - leave the screws LOOSELY connected for now. Next slide part C into place, and then the screen pieces of parts A. Finally, attach the other part B. Once it's clear everything fits as it should, tighten all the screws. Outer measurements of my box: 14.5" x 13.5" x 10 5/8". Inner measurements of my box: 13 3/8" x 12.5" x 9 15/16". Thickness of the wooden sides of the box is about 0.5 inches, but just a little less. It's just a little smaller than I need, but I now have several ideas about how to build a better box that's the perfect size. ... show more

I enjoy this crate features and sturdiness. The only issue that i have is that my albums has to be turned sideways from the crate handles... i have several albums that doesnt fit the other way.. and because i just upgraded my crate from a smaller one, i figured i wouldn't be looking for something else anytime soon.. this crate holds my GREATEST HITS, NUMBER 1's, along with THE BEST OF... i was hoping to have a little more space with them turned the other way for a few more albums. But it will do for the time being... (post photos later) ... show more
