  • Perfect 1st Birthday Gift for a Curious Little Music Lover!
As a first-time grandma, I wanted to find something special and interactive for my granddaughter’s 1st birthday—something that would grow with her and keep her entertained. When her mom mentioned how much she loves music and magnets, I knew this Montessori Wooden Hammering Toy would be a hit—and it absolutely was! She got such a kick out of the xylophone and couldn’t stop giggling as she pounded away on it. Although she’s not using the mallets just yet, she LOVES using her hands to take the little worms and frogs out. She especially enjoys pushing the frogs down with her hands. It’s wonderful for sensory play and motor skill development—even if, for now, she’s mostly putting everything straight in her mouth. Two things to highlight: Multi-functionality – This toy combines music, pounding, shape sorting, and sensory tools all in one, which makes it engaging and long-lasting as she grows. Safety with supervision – While everything is sized for toddlers, I would recommend close supervision with the smaller worms and mallets, especially for little ones who are still crawling or teething. ... show more

  • Colorful, Fun, and Great for Learning!
This toy is a total hit with my toddler! It’s bright, colorful, and offers so many ways to play xylophone, hammer bench, shape sorter, all in one compact design. My child loves making music and matching the shapes, and I love that it keeps them entertained while building motor skills and coordination. Everything feels well made and sturdy, and the pieces are just the right size for little hands. It’s also a great educational toy that grows with your child from simple banging to color and shape recognition. ... show more

  • A few negatives but still entertains
Colors are bright, the xylophone works very well and is not an intrusive sound. The gears are very entertaining to my little one and she noticed the clock with the shapes and colors before I even did, nice touch. The fishing aspect is something that my toddler really loves to do although the worms are on the smaller end so I have to make sure to pick them up and tuck them away when my one year old is awake and playing. One of the down sides is that the pop-up pillars don't seem to be well balanced. The ones in the center do not stay in place. For example. When my toddler hits the red pillar, the blue one will pop up and then it will go back down immeniately without having to touch it. Also some of the worms don't all fit in the holes. I'm not sure if that is how it is suppose to me but I wish it was just a little more consistent. All in all it's a great gift and a neat little toy that could use some polishing up. But my little one really enjoys playing with it and that is what is important. ... show more

  • Multifunctional and Fun
My daughter practically tossed me aside to get to this toy as I was unboxing it! She is a young toddler who thoroughly enjoys this toy now, and will be able to play with it differently as she gets older. (To make sure parts aren't lost, I have the "fishing" pieces put away for now). I especially like the wooden pieces and compact design, without it being cluttered. This toy is a major win for our house! ... show more

  • Cute wooden toy for entertaining your LO multiple ways with a few cons
First of all this is a cute toy, good quality, well painted and rounded, but there were a few cons to this for its value I think. The xylophone isn’t as melodic as I expected, it sounds kind of dull and I think it’s because there’s not enough space between the actual padding between the metal and the base of the wood to create a more open space for the chime. The 2nd con is that I wish there was a storage space for the xylophone hammer and fishing poles and the other extra tools (which is super considerate in case your LO happens to break one lol) but now there’s just a little more mess than intended. The fishing magnet is so cute for the worms and the frogs but if your little is not as developed with their pincer grasp yet, you will have to put the worms and the frogs back in yourself and it gets kind of tiresome. It’s not to say this isn’t a good concept but it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I would still otherwise recommend this if the cons above mentioned don’t bother you at all! Baby’s having fun so that’s what matters first! ... show more

  • Well made and fun for toddlers!
This wooden toy is so fun for babies/toddlers. The xylophone is clear and very responsive to the mallet. The little magnetic fishing game with frogs and worms works great— the magnet isn’t very strong but still has no trouble lifting the critters off the wooden box— you just have to be precise at fishing rod placement. The mallets and small pieces (worms) means that this game is more for toddlers who won’t put everything into their mouth. The worms are the smallest pieces and should be removed if younger babies play with this. It’s made well, colorful, and all the pieces fit perfectly well. I’m very happy with this toy and my nephew (2) loved playing with the whack a mole style poles/frogs and the xylophone the most ... show more

  • Broken On Arrival! Very Cheap
Wow, this was unfortunately a huge disappointment. We received this thinking our little girl would have fun with it. While it looks cute, the parts are very cheaply made. As you can see in the pictures, the xylophone handle arrived with the sphere off! There is no way to snap it back on either, it needs to be superglued. Honestly, I wouldn't trust this toy with babies given the choking risk of this! Imagine if this popped off while they were playing by themselves! The rest of the toy doesn't even function that well. The hammer pushes down the little cylinders but a lot of force is needed which would frustrate babies. The sizing is okay but this is a terrible value for the money and I don't even think kids would find it that fun. There are much better toys out there such as the one from Joyreal- an actual high quality, safe version of this. ... show more
