These fit nicely on an AR upper, they're also slightly taller than other rings so they help with keeping a good cheek weld when looking through a scope. The quick release function definitely works well and locks up tight so you shouldn't have to worry about the expensive optic taking a tumble. This is a solid little mount! I like the quick detach feature because sometimes I like to use irons and don't want to deal with screws to take it off and put it on. The adjustable clamps have simple latches on them that make the assembly feel very secure. In addition to looking nice, it seems pretty well-made and like it could take some abuse. We'll see how well it holds up to my .45-70! The only thing I'm not fond of is when mounting it "backwards" to get better eye relief, it's off-center. I would really appreciate a version of this product that has a rearward offset, that was made with reverse mounting in mind, or without an offset. I also wouldn't mind if it was 1/4 inch or so shorter. That said, this is a fantastic bang for buck, especially if you're not mounting it in reverse configuration, unlike me! ... show more
