  • Clear glass
Color: Flat Dark Earth
Glass is clear but reticle is hard to see at 1power. Worked great hitting steel out to 300. Did several 1inch groups at 100 yards as well with an AR.

  • Very clear
Color: Black
Scope is mounted on a 20 gauge turkey shotgun. Hunt squirrels mostly (conscious of pass throughs and carry over of a rifle.) and and was have trouble contrasting them from the forest background. So have turn to magnification for some help. The scope is clear with large area of view. Usually just set magnification at around 1.5 to 2 which allows me to pick them out. Have scope mounted on 1 inch picatinny rings. This works well as I was able to adjust LOP and Comb height to line up eye and scope to feel very comfortable. Easily, in 80% of my shots shots are moving target. With with wide field of view and a comfortable gun mount transition to target and leads have become easy. As for mounting had a couple of problem of my making. First I went with Offset ZR305 scope mount but it sat too high on shotgun (2 5/8 in to center of barrel) and I am built to small to be comfortable. So went to the rings lowering center of scope by 3/4 inch. Also forgot to set eye relief with the scope set at max or near max magnification. As a rule if set there the rest of the range will follow. My effective range of a this shotgun is about 60 yard with good turkey shot shells. Last note the focus adjustment is meant to focus the reticle. Setting it helps a lot with finding ring in darker background. But honestly would be best if it were green or red. Back after a 100 rounds. Using mostly 3 inch shells. Sight holding settings. I have patterned several different types of shot and chokes, everyone slightly to a lot different than my preferred shel/choke. So move just the outside number ring of both dials to 14 as my preferred setting and from there adjust other shot and put those settings in my phone. So if I am shooting Brand x w/full choke, I look it up and it would be like 19 U/P and !0 R/L. it is working out well for me and mostly don't have to test again and again. Scope still very clear and using more magnification with use. ... show more

  • I am very surprised that this scope does not have all 4 and 5 stars!
Color: Black
This was the my the first FFP scope that I have ever bought. I'm very glad I did. The easy explanation for First Focal Place scope is that the reticle (the crosshairs) can move forward or backward as you focus the scope. On other scopes, the reticle(crosshairs) do not move. I'm sure someone will take umbrage with my simple definition. However,I have read so many confusing definitions for a FFP scope that I wanted to give a simple answer: the crosshairs move out and back as you focus. Monstrum is an excellent brand at an excellent price. I've had $500 scopes that were lousy. My rule is that you have to spend $120 or more in order to get a quality scope. Buy this scope. It's a very good scope for the price! ... show more

  • Good scope for the money.
Color: Flat Dark Earth
Let me start this off by saying that this is my second scope from them. The first one we had nothing but issues with, but customer service was great about honoring their warranty. I purchased this scope for a budget rifle build. Trying to see how cheap I can build an AR style rifle and it still be decent. With the price point I wasn’t expecting pin point accuracy, especially shooting Russian ammo out of an Ar in 7.62x39. But I got decent accuracy. 1.5 inch groups at a hundred yards. So I decided to take the rifle with the scope hog hunting with me this last weekend. And that is where the scope shined. I took two hogs, an 82 pounder and a 194 pounder, using that scope. The scope allowed for clear and fast target pictures to where I was able to make clean ethical kills. And that was after climbing in and out of hunting blinds, bouncing around in a truck going to the hunting area, getting dropped, and stuff getting slammed on it while it was in its case because someone didn’t realize my rifle was on the backseat. It never lost its zero. The only downside is it’s a 1-4 power scope so anything beyond a 100yards is kinda hard to see. Both my hogs where harvested between 30-75 yards. ... show more

  • Reticle nearly invisible at 1x, but the adjustments are accurate and repeatable
Color: Black
Ignoring the cost, this scope isn't enough of what I want. On the other hand, it's pretty impressive for the price. My biggest complaint is that the reticle is simply too fine to use at the 1x setting - it all but disappears against any dark target. Large outer crosshairs would be a huge improvement. The optics are so-so, about on par with the price. The most impressive feature were the adjustments - the clicks are crisp and distinct and I shot several "box tests" with complete repeatability (i.e. making big adjustments from zero and then back, in both directions returns to the original zero). I've seen much more expensive scopes not do nearly as well. If you just consider this a 3-4x, it's a heck of a bargain. ... show more

  • Not as described
Color: Black
I purchased a 1x-6x Alpha and was very amazed at the quality, so much so that its mounted on a very high quality AR. However, there was no amazement since I've received this 1x-4x Alpha. I have to turn the power to about 1.8x just for it to actually be 1x or same as eye sees. Its 4x is very comparative to actual 4x and that's the only reason I didn't send it back. The reticle is not as seen on page or as labeled on the box it came in. The reticle dot is an eight sided, block shape and then mil type crosshairs both vertical and horizontal I've owned 3 Monstrum scopes and this is the first I've been negative about, not happy at all. ... show more

  • So far so good!
Color: Flat Dark Earth
I can't believe how affordable this optic is!!! Sturdy and well out together and was easy to zero. Had held true so far with a couple hundred rounds.

Color: Black
Very nice scope for the price. Packaged extremely well from the factory. Very clear lens. The reticle in my scope does not match the reticles in the instruction manual or anywhere online. It looks like a stop sign - octagon. I have no idea what the holds are as the instructions do not state. I called Monstrum directly and no answer. I'll be returning and ordering the new Vortex. Don't waste your money, you'll be wanting more features when you get it. ... show more
