This is my fourth Monstrum optic, though my first LPVO from them. I wanted a lower price LPVO for a 12ga slug gun, and as with all.my previous Monstrum scopes, this one performed extremely well. I held up very well to the shock of a 12ga slug in a Remington 870, and held zero with no issues. Easy to dial in, and it stayed there. No noticeable parallax issues, great sight picture and eye box, no significant edge blurring, and as always with Monstrum, very generous eye relief (which was necessary considering that 12ga kicks hard). Is the glass as clear as my Sig Tango? No. But for this, I didn't need it to be. Next time I need a good LPVO, I'll look at some of Monstrum's higher end, yet still vastly affordable, offerings. If you're looking for a good LPVO at an excellent price, this one is as good or better than a Primary Arms, and almost on par with a very pricy Sig. ... show more

    • Perfect for Rimfire Rifles!
I figured I could get away with a cheaper scope since I was putting it on a Ruger 10/22 and I really didn't expect much for this price point. However, even as I unboxed it, the quality was evident. This thing is sturdy, the lenses are clear, and the crosshairs are sharp! Zeroing was easy and I was clover-leafing my groups at 25 yards. I've put about 300 rounds through with this scope and it holds zero (not surprising on a 0.22. I may slap it on my 30-30 just to see if it can take the punishment. My expectations werent very high for this optic, however i am mildly impressed with what i recieved. I recieved this on saturday and sighted in on sunday. So let me start with the pros Pros 1) very well made housing. Made from aircraft grade aluminum. 2)glass is much clearer than expected from such a low budget scope. Comparable to primary arms and vortex. 3) reticles are thin enough to take distance shots up to 500 yards without blocking the veiw of target center. Yet not so thin they disappear when looking through the eyepeice for extended periods of time. 4) is definitely water resistant to heavy downpour. Was sighting in in a heavy rain and used the red illumination during it. 5) most important pro- so far after zeroing, holds zero after an additional 200 rounds. Center mass(or windage) has not changed as well as elevation. With ammo that is way to light for my ar15, i was getting 1 1/2 groups at 100yrds. That was with 64 grain fmj. With 68 grain handloads i know it will tighten up to less than 1/2 inch at 100 And no. That is not a typo. 6) eye relief is spot on. Easy target aquisition. 7)last but not least. The windage and elevation turrets are top notch. Are resetable after zeroing and are crisp and audible when adjusting. No spongy feeling between clicks. Ok so cons. Not a long list surprisingly. 1) illumination is non existant during the day even at the highest setting but overpowering in low lightconditions. In low light i found level 2 the only acceptable level as anything higher creates glare inside the optic right at the eyepeice. That being said, 2 is a good setting wether its green or red. 2) make sure your turret caps are on after adjustments are done. The caps are the only thing to ensure the scope maintains being fully waterproofed. 3)paralax is very noticeable on lower power. Final thoughts Overall i am impressed at the clarity and accuracy of this LPVO. It definitely helped my rifle go on a diet and lose over a pound over my old scope. While paralax effect is there it hasnt hindered my ability to use this scope with great accuracy. Alows for quick recovery and great eye relief. I also bought medium rise rings after reading some of the reviews regarding use on the AR platform. They were right. Invest in some medium or tall risers for this optic and you wont feel you wasted your money. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and even at a budget price it delivers amazing performance. ... show more

I really like this scope. Lightweight and amazingly good optics. Excellent build quality and value throughout. The windage and elevation have good “clicks” and the scope lens covers are very nice. I actually used some different mounts that raised the scope up higher but the standard mounts are ok. I had another scope in a similar price range and I just sent it back because it doesn’t even come close to comparing with this one. The green and red reticle lighting is good too and the different brightness settings work very well. I am going to get another one of these for my other rifle. It will be replacing a Burris 3x-9x Fullfield 30. That’s how good I think this scope is. ... show more

This thing was very surprising for the price seems high quality plenty of adjustment and the lenses are very clear. Works great on a .22 and the illumated reticle is a nice touch it even comes with an extra battery.
