Features

  • REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD -- Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual)
  • EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency
  • CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces
  • LONGER SERVICE LIFE -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life
  • IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade

Description

Ideal for light trucks that that tow or carry varying loads, Monroe load adjusting shocks include a heavy gauge calibrated spring that adjusts to road and weight conditions to provide extra control when operating conditions get more demanding.

  • P71 Crown Victoria shock upgrade
These fit great on my 2001 Ford Crown Victoria P71. Should help with not letting the car squat when the trunk is full.

  • A Stable Ride
If you're thinking of replacing the rear shocks in your pickup, consider these Sensa-Trac shocks by Monroe. I really didn't NEED new shocks, but the ones that were on the truck didn't seem adequate. The Sensa-Trac shocks have delivered a smoother and more stable ride than the standard shocks I replaced, especially when there's a load in the bed. One thing, though: I bought these for my 1960 F-100 pickup, a vehicle I have listed in my "Amazon Garage" to help me find parts more easily. When i added them to my cart, Amazon told me "These Will Not Fit Your 1960 F-100." This is, of course, not true. Several other online auto parts websites recommended the 58568 as an exact fit for my truck, which they were. If you're ordering a part for your vehicle and get a similar message at check-out time, take a few minutes and verify the fit with another source. ... show more

  • Purchased a used part. It was new!
Just a tip. Order the used parts. They’re still new just returned parts. I saved $50 and still new parts. Fit great on my trailer. I always order the (used) parts as they are much cheaper but still new parts.

  • Problem Solved
I bought these fo a 1963 Nova Wagon , when loaded down with people and stuff the rear end would sag , these shocks solved the problem 100% . They fit perfectly and went on without a hitch . Without the passengers and stuff it raised the rear of the vehicle 2 inches. Fully loaded it drops 1 inch . The ride is great either empty or full .I recommend these shocks and you get 2 at this price. ... show more

  • Great for heavy loads, but not rough riding
I wish something like this would have come stock on my Crown Vic. It's not noticeably rougher riding with these installed. We drive with the car loaded with baggage on long trips and this keeps the car looking as though we have a normal load. It might be overzealous, but I'll say it anyway: People traveling with cars that look loaded down are targets for robbery and police surveillance. Your car handles usually noticeably different when the rear is sagging due to a heavy load. This sagging in the rear changes the alignment in the front as well, and causes changes in the driving characteristics. I'd say these should be stock in any car that has a big trunk. ... show more

  • I usually don't write reviews, but these shocks deserve it!
These shocks are just what I needed! For the price you cant beat it! The back of my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis was sagging. Every time I had someone in the back seat that weighed more than 200lbs, my car would bottom out all the time. Since I bought these shocks and installed them, I have not bottomed out at all. Plus I notice a plus in less body roll, and the car seems to have better performance. I guess because there isn't all that weight weighing down the back of the car. I would definitely recommend these and I would use them again. ... show more

  • Work fine. Price is right.
Had to compress a couple inches to install on a 69 Ranchero. Increased ride height about an inch.
