Features

  • Alder Body: Considered the most balanced tonewood for guitars, Alder delivers an exceptional and full-bodied tone, with a pronounced upper-midrange.
  • Soapbar Pickups: Sitting at the top of the Indio guitar line, DLX Plus Guitars feature the same premium materials and performance of high-end instruments, at a fraction of the cost. OS40 DLX Plus Guitars feature alder bodies with maple necks, as well as custom soapbar pickups and premium electronics. Known for their gritty and raw tone, "soapbar" single coil pickups produce a tone that is somewhere between that of classic single coil and dual coil humbucker style pickups. Although less common than single coil or humbucker pickups, soapbar pickups are responsible for some of the greatest and most memorable recorded tones in rock music.
  • Set up in the USA: All lndio OS40 DLX Guitars are professionally setup by our Master Luthier in Southern California, ensuring that your guitar plays exceptionally well, right out of the box.
  • Gig Bag Included: All Indio Electric Guitars ship with a protective Gig Bag to defend your axe against dings and scratches as you travel.
  • Soapbar pickups are responsible for some of the greatest and most memorable recorded tones in rock music.

  • A fantastic throwback to vintage style guitars
Color: Blue
This is my first time owning an INDIO series guitar and I can honestly say it's absolutely beautiful in how it looks and plays, and for only about 200 dollars you definitely get your money's worth, it was almost perfect right out of the box, all I needed to do was slightly adjust the action and inotation, the P90 pickups in this thing are very high quality and give me a perfect tone whether I want gritty and dirty sounding distortion or buttery smooth clean playing, the neck and body and headstock all feel just the right weight and high quality, it sounds great with each of my several amps that I tried it on, it has a beautiful vintage tone, like something you would expect to hear from a guitar from the 60's and 70's this guitar is a beautiful throwback to the classic JAZZMASTER styles...I would even go as far as to say that it sounds better than some of the most expensive FENDER guitars I've ever owned or played, its well worth the modest price.. TERRIFIC GUITAR! The only bad thing I can say about this guitar is the Whammy bar seems to throw it out of tune pretty easily, other than that it's a great buy for any guitarist from beginner to veteran ... show more

  • Gorgeous offset style guitar at budget price!
Color: Natural
Monoprice's Indio OS40 DLX arrived with the customary gg bag, well protected, and with flawless finish. The natural wood is much nicer than the online images, and it does have a high gloss poly coating on body and neck (some may like/dislike this, but not a flow). Frets feel smooth, no sprout or sharp edges. Tuners and P90 style pickups are fine, nothing special but functional. The jazz master style tremolo is push-in, not screw-in, arm stays in place (no droop or spin) and allows for vibrato up and down. Pretty good set-up (could tell it had been addressed by someone in the know) except, the low E intonation at 12th fret is a bit sharp and wll stay sharp because the saddle is all the way back/screw totally compressed. So they tried their best to get it intonated! I'll probably just cut the spring to allow more room. Other 5 strings intonated on arrival, and the strings are actually pretty nice. I bought this guitar after having watched/read a lot of reviews of the Monoprice Indio series, and wanted an offset style guitar at a lower price than Fnder and others were offering. Indio's OS40 model looks and sounds great for the money, and the issue with intonation is pretty minor compared to the issues that often plague budget import guitars. Heck, you even get a nicely padded gig bag (not a vinyl dustcover but an actual thick , embroidered, pocketed bag) with every Indio purchase. Also have the Indio Retro tel style guitar, which is less expensive but also much better craftwork than many entry-level guitars. ... show more

  • Terrible Quality Control
Color: Blue
Decided to take a gamble on one of these Indio guitars after all the positive comments on YouTube and what not. Maybe the guitars they got were great but the phrase hot mess doesn’t belong to describe the the product I received or the customer service call I had with monoprice. Multiple tuners won’t hod tune at all, the pickups have a crazy loud buzz that changes depending on how you tilt the guitar, neck not properly aligned in the pocket, I could go on but shouldn’t have to. When I called the company they said they could only help me with warranty work and this wasn’t that so I would need to talk to Amazon. Kudos to Amazon for ultimately stepping up to deal with the problem but other than that not a great experience. Again, maybe I was just unlucky but if what I got is any indication of “bang for the buck” offered by Indio/Monoprice I would (will) spend my bucks somewhere else. Especially true for a new player. The guitar I received would actively discourage just about anyone from playing the instrument. ... show more

  • Awesome guitar, better value a Fender Jaguar
Color: Blue
I absolutely love this guitar! I'm an intermediate guitar player who likes a good looking guitar that sounds good and is comfortable. I bought a squier jazzmaster, a fender jaguar, and this guitar all at the same time. Even if they all cost the same amount of money this is the one I would keep out of the three. Looks the best, it's slightly smaller than the others and super comfortable to play and it sounds just as good. Add the fact that this guitar was $150, the squier was more than three times that and the fender was more than four times that, and it was a no-brainer. I returned the fender and squier and kept this. It's one of my almost often played guitars now. In addition to sounding good, the setup was great. The nut was good. The front ends or comfortable. Fantastic guitar. ... show more

  • Great guitar especially for the price.
Color: Blue
I’m quite impressed with this guitar. I am a fan of all offset bogey guitars so that was my immediate attraction. So far I’ve only made a few minor adjustments to make it fit my liking even more. The pickups are a tad noisy, but I was my copper shielding tape on all of the body routes and that helped a bunch with the noise. Other than that, it sounds great and stays in tune. It does exactly what a guitar should do. Good fit and finish, and nicely polished frets with a sweet maple neck and fingerboard. Highly recommended this guitar. ... show more

  • Terrible
Color: Blue
Neck was unfinished, every fret was razor sharp, also needed a leveling. Nut was cut all wrong, bridge adjustment screws were all stripped, tuners are unusually, they slip and don’t hold the strings in place ……just too many issues. Reached out to Indio and they refused to stand behind their product…. ... show more

  • Natural Indio OS40
Color: Natural
This is an excellent guitar. I spent 30 minutes smoothing out the fret ends, other than the sharp frets this guitar is just about perfect. The intonation was spot on and the pickups sound great.
