Features

  • The solid maple block center, increases sustain and reduces susceptibility to feedback in high volume situations, while maintaining big, warm acoustic overtones.
  • Mellow tone, makes it well-suited to playing jazz, blues, or rock.
  • The semi-hollowbody construction resonates like an acoustic guitar, but much quieter, making it great for late night practicing.
  • Enjoy the classic styling, originating from the need to get the guitar volume above the big brass bands of the 30s and 40s.
  • All Indio Boardwalk Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitars ship with a protective Gig Bag to defend your axe against dings and scratches as you travel.

  • Good looking
Color: Gray
Ordered it twice. First one the 1st and 6th string was in contact with the 1st thru 3rd fret. Would actually pinch and and hold a thin piece of paper. The look of this guitar was very good and the electronics sounded good. Fret buzz was horrible shipping box was very beat up so sent it back. Excellent service no problem with return. Was so impressed with the look of the guitar had them send a replacement. It shows up a day early and double boxed with the famous ring the doorbell and run delivery. Three of the four corners were damaged and torn open on the outer box. The inner box that the guitar was in and would be its shipping box normally had a three inch triangular puncture hole. Took it out of its padded case and about the 1st fret the neck is cracked. The finish is blown off, spalled away from the neck. A crack is visible in the neck. On the top edge of the neck is eleven visible cracks that can be felt also. On the bottom edge are six similar cracks the length of the neck. It has had a rough life for being new. Excellent customer service no problem with return. The shape of the neck for me was very easy to use. Yes the fret ends are mostly very rough and need some work. Both of these guitars to me were very good looking and felt good to hold. Apparently if you get a good one at your home is the same as rolling the dice. For me after twice I bowed out. I just don't need the aggravation. If you decide to give it a try they feel and look like nice guitars. ... show more

  • It's a 200 some odd dollar guitar.
Color: Gray
You definitely get what you pay for at least. It is a nice guitar. Mine came with good frets and finish. Set up was decent and it sounds great. However. Some knob nuts were loose and there were left over shavings rattling around inside. The "daddario" strings seemed almost stained or spotted but I'll be replacing those... The "flame" top barely qualifies for that name. More like it was on the bench at the factory next to a flame top. But again it's 200 some odd dollars. I wasn't expecting too much. It's got a grey cloud appearance and the fade is different than the picture. The horns are all black. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase but do not agree with some people who say these punch well above their price point because this one definitely does not. ... show more

  • Excellent guitar for the money
Color: Orange
Received the guitar via UPS in about 1 week, undamaged. Packed in gig bag and cardboard box. In perfect shape, no scratches or blemishes; nearly in-tune, just a slight adjustment with a tuner required to be right on. No other setup was needed. I am a beginner guitarist (age 72) and I find the neck and fretboard comfortable. I had previously played my granddaughter's identical Indio Boardwalk. My son has played guitar for nearly thirty years and has several high end guitars. He tested this guitar for me and made no adjustments, although he felt the upper frets seemed tight for his large hands. He was able to play rock, jazz, and country songs as easily as on his own guitars, with the exception that he would have liked more rich bass tone. Personal preference, I like the brighter, lighter bass sound. ... show more

  • Disappointed wth Workmanship On Neck/Frets
Color: Gray
First the good. The delivery was quicker than expected. The body was nicely finished except for some crud in one of the F holes. The padded gig bag was well built and sufficient for light transport. Sound of the pickups and controls were OK except for a small amount of static in the bridge tone control. That probably could be worked out over time. String setup seemed to be OK, I didn't encounter any buzzing. Now the bad. I don't believe I have ever seen a neck so hacked up on a guitar in my life. First the binding along the neck was made up of several short pieces with discolored filler in a couple of places. The binding edge was embedded with black dirt from filing or sanding and there were a couple of places between frets gouged out probably with a file. The worst location was along the top edge next to the fretboard So the first thing you noticed looking down while playing was the crumby binding. It was that obvious. Also the fret ends were not finished off and sticking out from the neck with sharp edges. It was impossible to slide your hand along the neck without being very careful not to get scratched. I was really disappointed as the guitar has gotten several good reviews on YouTube. That is why I bought it. Perhaps I got the runt of the litter so to speak. I sent it back. Now looking at an Ibanez semi-hollow for a bit more money. ... show more

  • Very nice looking guitar, however, I had to return it.
Color: Orange
This is a very nice looking guitar for the money. Neck felt good and had nice sound. However, I had to return it. The unit that arrived at my house surely was a return from someone else as can be seen by the crazy tape job all over the box. Additionally, it had broken Cracked Plastic binding along both sides of the neck in Multiple locations at fret points on the neck. Also, the tailpiece was not fully seated. Other than that, it was a very nice guitar and it came with a gig bag. The folks at Monoprice were nice, but just directed me back to Amazon. There are many very positive reviews of this model all around the internet. I must have just got a returned reject somehow. Had to give it just 2 stars. ... show more

  • Stated used-like new. Definitely not
Color: Gray
I bought a warehouse model for about $30 less than new. Description stated "used-like new". It has numerous chips and dings on the upper neck and headstock. You can see the wood in a couple spots. Amazon is usually pretty accurate in their descriptions. Definitely not this time unfortunately.

  • Even calling it a guitar is generous, if not false
Color: Gray
The sides to the neck are cracked and sharp, impossible to play without hurting yourself. Fret buzzes like crazy and frets are extremely gritty. All in all it looks and sounds like trash. All the good reviews and publicity seems to have made them sloppy. It's not really a guitar if it's unplayable, is it? Update: Upon plugging it into my amp I also discovered that the electronics inside don't work, making it even more useless than I thought. ... show more
