  • My Favorite Substrate
Style: Houseplants & Aroids Size: 5 Dry Quarts
My Mom recommended this to me (she also gifted me all of my plants, I wouldn’t have ever thought to buy them myself tbh, but now it’s a minor hobby of mine while at home). This stuff is really versatile, and can be used for a huge range of plants (especially if you combine it with other materials), although it is best for tropical plants that need aerated substrate but also need to be able to retain SOME water and be soil-like still (as opposed to pure orchid bark, moss or similar stuff). It’s very aerated and hard to over water; it drains well. I had a money tree that was dying of root rot back when I didn’t know what I was doing, and I repotted it with this soil and the tree came back a within a week or two. I probably won’t ever use a different mix for my monstera albo or money trees, I like this stuff. It looks and behaves like a chunky soil, so it’s easy to repot with (the plant won’t fall over when it’s dry like with orchid bark, for example). I’ve also checked my pH on my monstera with this and it’s neutral to slightly acidic, so it’s good to go. Like I said though, it somewhat resembles normal soil (albeit much chunkier) so when you use it, it will make a mess and get things dirty as opposed to orchid bark or something. So plan accordingly when replanting inside or whatever. Good stuff and very good value for the price IMO. ... show more

  • Wow wow wow!
Style: Houseplants & Aroids Size: 10 Dry Quarts
I knew from the description of ingredients this stuff was the real deal but man this stuff is great!! It’s SUPER CHUNKY - I’m talking only a little dirt/ soil. I even mixed some in on some of my plants that prefer damper soils / longer dry out time which I am okay with. I repotted seven plants with the larger bag. That includes two 5 gallons and one 3 gallon so it goes as far as it says it will on the package and as I mentioned I even mixed some regular soil/ dirt in. Overall I would say the value is pretty good for the quality. Within those repotted plants I repotted two monsteras (an albo and Thai constellation). The Thai has put out a new leaf with another leaf already ready to come out of that new leaf. The albo has a new leaf ready as well which I consider a win since it completely stopped growing before the repot. I have some other plants with this soil including a syngonium and an alocasia Frydek. My Frydek was previously in regular soil from the nursery and it has PERKED UP to say the least. I’m obsessed with this stuff. So far I have also noticed one of my plants that has coconut coir substrate attracts fungus gnats- the gnats go to some of my other plants but ignore this soil entirely. This stuff also doesn’t grow any nasty mold or get smelly. AMAZING STUFF! I recommend to everyone I know now. ... show more

  • Great CHUNKY soil mix with great ingredients
Style: Houseplants & Aroids Size: 10 Dry Quarts
My nearly dead Alocasia was repotted from its 2 inch nursery pot into a larger one using this mix and it’s super CHUNKY. But that’s what they love as you might know. It’s thriving and pushing new leaves out. Would likely buy again if I didn’t make my own mix.

  • The best!!
Style: Houseplants & Aroids Size: 10 Dry Quarts
Molly’s Aroid mix is the best substrate for all your tropical plants! Light, chunky, airy, that provides oxygen and nutrients to the roots and giving the roots something to hold onto. Plants truly love this!! In my small jungle, my plants are beautiful and thriving!

  • Great Chunky Soil Mix
Style: Houseplants & Aroids Size: 5 Dry Quarts
My plants and I love this aroid mix. To date, all of my plants that I have repotted with this soil, have done incredibly well. And I truly appreciate the lack of fungus gnats! Highly recommend

  • Soil Amendment Only
Style: Houseplants & Aroids Size: 10 Dry Quarts
I’m giving this 4 stars as a soil amendment only. This is in no way a complete soil replacement, unless you want to be a slave to watering.

This was pricey, but it has to be the best aroid mix I’ve used! The appearance of it was just amazing. Will buy again.
